The M.L. Day Pride Report
September 26, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear Friends and Families of MLD,
What a beautiful September it has been—sunny skies and crisp mornings have made every day feel extra special at MLD! Our recent Community Meeting was a true highlight, with a packed house of families and friends. We opened with an inspiring performance of a welcoming song rooted in Nigerian culture, setting a joyful and inclusive tone for the gathering. We also celebrated the Noble family for volunteering to hunt for playground balls on the weekend - with the PTO presenting our school community with a batch of new soccer balls!
We were thrilled to recognize 47 students with P.R.I.D.E. Awards this month for showing perseverance, respect, responsibility, integrity, dedication, and engaging in learning—what an incredible start to the year!
A special shout-out goes to third grader Luis Rosa-Spear, our Best Buddies event coordinator. Over the summer, Luis organized a fundraiser that brought in more than $800 for our chapter, Luis was recognized today by the O.O.B. Fire and Rescue as well as the President of the Maine State Best Buddies chapter. His dedication and leadership embody the spirit of friendship and dedication we value so deeply.
Thank you to everyone who continues to make our school community so vibrant and inspiring!
Enjoy this beautiful weekend!
Gail Keith
Principal
