We are starting a new male mentoring program at Murchison where Murchison dads can "adopt a classroom" to help in different ways in class. See the flyer below if you are interested in learning more information.

Did you know that breakfast is free for all students in Pflugerville ISD, regardless of socio-economic status? The cafeteria opens for breakfast at 7:05 am and our students love Ms. Mamie's cinnamon toast!

We are currently seeking sponsors for our upcoming Field Day! This years theme "Reading Rainbow: Take a Look, It's in a book, PE is everywhere"combines literacy and movement. Sponsorship will help provide tshirts for every student and staff member, as well as fun activity experiences. We appreciate any support in helping make this a memorable day for our school community. The Board of Trustees approved the 2026-27 School Calendar. The PfISD Board of Trustees approved Option 1 as the academic calendar for the upcoming school year.

The final calendar resulted from collaboration among parents, teachers, and staff. Thanks to the District Academic Advisory Counsel (DAAC) members for their hard work and to all survey participants for their feedback.

Our 2nd 9 weeks awards assembly will be held on January 20. You will know if your child is getting an award because their teacher will reach out to you or you will see that they made all A's on their report card. 2nd-5th grade report cards will be available in the Skyward Portfolio on January 13.

Students who receive an award will get a dog tag. If your child previously received a dog tag, feel free to have them wear them to school for the awards assembly. That way they can display their previous achievements and add another dog tag to the chain if they get another one!

Award times are listed below:

7:50-8:10 -- 5th grade

8:15-8:35 -- 4th grade

8:40-9:00 -- 3rd grade

9:05-9:25 -- 2nd grade

9:30-9:45 -- 1st grade

9:50-10:05 -- Kindergarten

Ms. Grillo is excited to share that this year students in Kinder-5th grade can participate in Six Flags Waves of Pages program! You'll see a flyer go home before break with a yellow reading log attached. Please fill it out with 10 hours of reading before February 25th and students will be able to get a free waterpark ticket to Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, Galveston or Hurricane Harbor good for next summer - and family members will be able to purchase discounted tickets as well!

All you have to do is log 10 hours and turn it in to Ms. Grillo! (you can keep logging in Beanstack as well!)

It's an exciting time of year as we gear up for Science Fair in January! 3rd-5th Grade Science Fair projects that are being completed at home must be brought to the library by January 13th, 2026. There will be a drop off point from 7:00am-7:30-am in the Library on January 13th.
