Andrew Lie attended the June 14 beam signing ceremony at the new Adult Education Campus and District Office site and enjoyed seeing the positive reactions from staff who will soon teach in this beautiful building, along with all staff who will work from this complex.

Kalimah Salahuddin shared her spearheading San Mateo County's first-ever county Pride parade on June 10 and hopes JUHSD will be a part of it next year. She attended the June 14 beam signing ceremony at the new Adult Education Campus and District Office site and is glad to welcome a building that represents who we are as a district.

Rosie Tejada attended the San Mateo County Fair's Pacific Islander Day with Trustee Gallegos as the guests of Pacific Islands Together. With Superintendent Presta, she attended Jefferson Elementary School District's retirement celebration of Dr. Bernardo Vidales. She shared how impressed she is with the new Adult Education Campus and District Office site.

Jerome Gallegos attended the June 14 beam signing and felt it was a cool event. The Student Advisory Council informed him of them having ten applicants for the coming school year.

Sherrett Walker attended the June 14 beam signing ceremony at the new Adult School Campus and District Office site and is excited to see growth happening within this district.

Superintendent Toni Presta gave a shout-out to summer school principal Dr. Sterling He for doing an excellent job in this role. During the regular school year, Dr. He is a vice principal at Westmoor High School. With support from Thornton High School Principal Dr. Dennie Marenco, who has served as summer school principal in the past, he is providing her with regular updates and is doing a great job!

Union President Monica Casey shared that she has participated in many of the same activities in which the Board and Executive Cabinet have recently attended. Union-wise, they have been working on MOUs (Memorandum of Understanding), side letters, and working on items that arise.

She will travel to Southern California for Union Summer School, in which she'll learn more about Union and District budgets and ways to better support both.

She wished everyone a very happy summer!

The next regularly scheduled Board Meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Public open session begins at 7:00 pm (unless otherwise noted) on the JUHSD YouTube channel and in person at the District Office.
