Welcome May Families!
May Elementary Counseling Department is so excited to start another school year with our Roadrunners. We will offer individual, small group and monthly guidance lessons to support our students social, emotional and academic needs. Our mission and vision and May is that we will provide a learning environment that is innovative and student-centered. We will also empower every student to be a successful, lifelong learner. As we transition into a new routine, we want to remind our students that we are here to support, guide, and advocate for them.
This year I will service all grade levels Prek-5th grade and I am so excited to be your child's School Counselor. Please contact me if you would like to discuss individual or group counseling.
Kind regards,
Ms. Julianne Juárez
The Role of the School Counselor
Guidance Curriculum: School Counselors provide guidance lessons to all grade levels that facilitate student growth and development in the areas of educational, career, personal, and social development.
Responsive Services: School counselors intervene with or on behalf of those students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grades whose personal circumstances, concerns, or problems are threatening to interfere with or are interfering with their healthy development.
Individual Planning: School counselors guide students to plan, monitor, and manage their own educational, career, personal and social development.
System Support: The System Support component describes management activities which assure the delivery of a high quality school counseling program, and service which indirectly benefit students by supporting other programs.
