Principal Corner

Springdale Schools will have "remote learning days" on October 16th and October 19th. Students will be working from home these days. We will be practicing for our remote learning that will occur the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving Break. The two remote learning days in October will be the last days of the first quarter. We will send work home that your child should be able to complete independently. Please wait for more specific information from the classroom teachers.

Students are doing an excellent job of bringing their face coverings each day. If they forget, we have some in the office and the side entry doors that we can give them. All students should have received at least one cloth mask from the district. We sent some home with 3-5 graders this past week.

We will have a hat day on Thursday, October 15. We are raising money for Shop with a Cop program. Please send a $1 and wear a hat.

Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is back! While the Fair will be exclusively held online this year, we still plan on making it a fun and joyous experience for our kids.

Remember, every dollar you spend will benefit our school directly (25% back in rewards!).

October’s Counseling Lesson Theme- Safety

Throughout the month of October, I will be in classrooms discussing safety and how to make healthy choices with help from the Empower Me! curriculum. Empower Me! teaches children to identify their safety net of trusted adults and encourages them to reach out to one of those adults if anyone is trying to break their safety rules. I encourage you to talk about safety and making healthy choices with your children. Below are some tips to help start the conversation and keep your kids safe.

Ask your student about their 5 trusted adults.
Discuss their safety rules online and offline.
Make sure your children are on safe and secure websites or phone apps.
Discuss what they should do if someone is being unsafe online or in real life.
Discuss the difference between a healthy choice and an unhealthy choice.

Trunk-or-Treat

Springdale School Resource Officers are collecting bags of candy for the Springdale Police Department Trunk-or-Treat. We will collect candy the week of October 19th.

NWA Adopt-A-Cop Community Award Nomination Form

Please submit this form on any police officer that has had a significant impact on students, parents, staff, and the community. Nominations are due by Friday, September 16.

Playground After Hours

We need your help! Please keep an eye on our playground in the evenings. We have had some damage to our pre-k area equipment. If you see something that does not seem right, please notify the police through the non-emergency call number at 479-751-4542. We also offer After School Program at BYE. They use our playground until 5:30pm. We ask that our families enjoy our playground after that time so that we can keep our kids safe.
