August 15, 2025
Thank you for a great week back. 2025-2026 is going to be awesome! We started with a very productive week with 6th graders on Tuesday and welcomed 7th and 8th graders on Wednesday. Thank you to all our parents for your patience with the car rider lines. We are off to a great start!
There will NOT be a callout on Sunday evening but there WILL be a callout next Wednesday evening about Open House.
Have a great weekend!

Go, Bobcats!
EXPECT EXCELLENCE
Open House August 21st
6:00 PM (Large Gym) We will cover general safety information for the school year as well as a cyberbullying parent presentation sponsored by LCI PTA. This meeting is optional.
6:30 PM (Commons) Parents who do not wish to attend the safety meeting can report directly to the LCI Commons and wait for an announcement to begin Open House.
Parents will report to 1st period and follow their students' schedules. You can access your student's schedule via Skyward. We will not report to Advisory, WYN Time, or Mini-courses. We will follow an abbreviated schedule (about 7 minutes per class).
Open House is a great opportunity to meet your student's teachers, see their classrooms, and learn a little about their courses.
OUR PARKING LOTS WILL FILL BEYOND CAPACITY FOR THIS EVENT.
You may also park at these locations:
Kroger Parking Lot
250 S Egret Bay Blvd, League City, TX 77573
There will be school buses to shuttle those who park at Kroger. Simply park and look for the CCISD school buses. Shuttles will start running at 5:00 PM
Goforth Parking Lot
2610 Webster St, League City, TX 77573
Please park in any lot and use the sidewalk along Webster Street to walk to LCI.
LCI Focus on Student Badges
This year, Student ID badges will play a central role in the LCI experience. Every student is required to wear a current LCI ID badge each day—no exceptions.
These IDs aren’t just for accessing the cafeteria, library, and school buses. They’re also a vital safety tool, helping staff quickly identify and assist students during emergency situations.
How Parents Can Help:
- Morning check: Ensure your student is wearing their ID before leaving the house.
- After-school routine: Create a consistent spot for storing the ID when your student gets home.
- Lost or damaged? Replace missing or broken ID badges promptly to avoid disruptions. Temporary ID's can be purchased for $1 and replacement badges can be purchased for $7.
Thank you for supporting student safety and making ID use a consistent part of our daily routine at LCI!

Fundraiser
We will run the same fundraiser as last year through Vertical Raise. Our LCI fundraiser is 100% voluntary and donation-based. Students do not have to sell anything or handle products or cash. Our community is very generous and we had great success raising funds for students, teachers, and the campus last year. If you are not comfortable asking family and friends for donations- there is absolutely no requirement to do so. Top earning advisories are eligible for donut parties (regardless if all students participate) and top earning students are eligible for prizes. More info to come.

Letter from the WAVE Liaison
The smell of new school supplies and the sound of excitement is in the air! This is my favorite time of the year, and it’s great having the kids back on campus! WAVE students received a packet of WAVE forms to bring home, and there are four forms that need to be signed and returned by (or before) Friday, August 22.
Students need to turn in the following forms to their advisory teacher:
· WAVE GT Magnet Parent/Student Contract
· WAVE Probation/Furlough/Exit Guidelines
· CCISD Secondary Honor Code
· WAVE mini course supply fee- $40:00 This may be paid on Skyward or with a check.
During the first week and a half, WAVE advisories will get to know each other, go over LCI procedures, class expectations, the CCISD honor code and much more! They will also learn about our WAVE grade level themes and how we use them in our GT lessons.
Mini courses are an integral part of our WAVE program and on Thursday, students selected their first course. Mini courses will begin on Monday, August 25. I want to give a shout out to the WAVE teachers for creating such interesting and inventive courses! It’s going to be a great nine weeks full of learning.
As always, if you need any anything, feel free to reach out. I am here to help and support our GT students and families.

Traffic Plan
- Please follow the yellow arrows around the perimeter of the big lot to drop-off/ pick-up your student. Students should only be dropped-off or picked-up alongside the building.
- Please do not park. Stay in your car in the pick-up/drop-off line. Students will not be allowed to walk out into the parking lot to meet you. This is to keep them safe.
- If you are checking your student out early, please park in the bus parking (small lot) which is located along Webster Street. Please be aware that buses are lining from 3:00 – 3:25 and 4:00 – 4:20 and you will not be able to enter/leave the parking lot during those times. It is against the transportation code to pass a bus loading or unloading.
- Please do not drop-off/pick-up your student on Webster Street. It is dangerous and a violation of the traffic code.
Callout Script
Wednesday, August 20, 2025
Good evening Bobcat Families. This is Dr. K at LCI reminding parents that tomorrow night, August 21st will host our LCI Open House at 6:30 PM. Please join us in the Commons where we will gather before reporting to students’ first period classes. We will run a 7-period schedule where parents will get to meet teachers and hear all about their courses. This event is designed primarily for parents. We will have students bring home copies of their schedules so parents can walk in their intermediate students’ shoes for an evening. It’s always a fun and informative evening. We hope you see you all there.
There will also be an optional informational meeting about LCI safety and a PTA presentation focused on cyberbullying in the large gym at 6:00 PM. Feel free to join us before open house or head straight into the Commons if you arrive early and do not want to attend the optional meeting.
Our parking lot will fill beyond capacity for Open House. There will be additional parking next door at Goforth Elementary. We will also run shuttle buses from Kroger on Egret Bay starting at 5:30 PM. If you park at Kroger, just look for the CCISD school buses and hop on.
Ms. Bohnert is also hosting a Science Fair meeting in the Teaching Theatre at 5:30 if your student is planning to participate in science fair this year.
We look forward to seeing our parents tomorrow night. Have a great evening and Go, Bobcats!
