Welcome Home

“WELCOME HOME.” These words can warm the soul and hold different meanings for each of us. For some, they simply refer to the place where you sleep each night. For others, it's the feeling your soul experiences when you're surrounded by the beauty of nature. It might be a regular vacation spot you eagerly anticipate each year, or the sense of relief upon returning from a trip, knowing you're back in your own space. No matter the context, we can all agree that the best kind of home is where we feel safe and can truly rest.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:28-30 of His desire for us to see Him as this kind of home: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” These words reassure us that Jesus offers a home where we can find peace and rest.

John Wesley UMC has always desired to be this example of Christ to the community. That is why we are using the slogan "Welcome Home" this year. It is our prayer that JDub is not just a youth program but a place where your kids can find rest, safety, and a sense of belonging in Jesus.
