Around the Halls
CCP Biology and CCP Environmental Science students visited the zoo on Friday! It was a great hands-on learning experience, giving students the chance to explore animal behavior, habitats, and conservation up close. A fun and educational day for all!
Our General Chemistry students had an amazing hands-on learning experience this week as members of the Clermont County Soil and Water District visited to teach about how water flows through the county, how it is treated, and how it reaches our homes and businesses. Students tested 12 different water samples from natural sources, treatment facilities, homes, and businesses to determine where the water came from and whether it had been treated. The activity was a huge success, and we are so thankful to Clermont County Soil and Water for providing such an engaging lesson and sharing future career opportunities with our students!
Education Academy students from the high school spent their day at the elementary school with 4th and 5th grade students! 4th graders learned about careers in construction and architecture. They had the opportunity to build simple 3D shapes and competed in bridge building and tall structure building competitions. 5th graders learned about STEM careers and engineering. They challenged themselves to build their own robot - a DoodleBot!
Our CCP Biology students are wrapping up the academic year with an exciting zoology unit! Throughout the unit, students are gaining hands-on experience through the dissection of a variety of specimens, including worms, sharks, bullfrogs, and rats. These activities allow students to explore anatomy and better understand the structure and function of living organisms in a real-world, interactive way.
Our CCP Psychology students are presenting their final projects — case studies centered on fictional TV and movie clientele.
Students are applying real-world psychology skills by diagnosing disorders, developing treatment plans, and reflecting on potential complications and ethical considerations that may arise throughout treatment.
This project gives students the opportunity to connect classroom learning to realistic scenarios while building critical thinking, communication, and clinical reasoning skills.
Our 6th and 7th grade band students celebrated the completion of their Ice Cream Sundae Scales this week! 🍦🎶 Students earned different ice cream toppings by successfully playing their fundamental scales, then got to build their own sundaes as a fun reward for all of their hard work throughout the semester.
We are so proud of the dedication and progress these students have shown, and a special thank you goes to our high school band students for helping make this celebration possible! 💙

The Village of Williamsburg asked that we share this message pertaining to road closures next week:

The west-bound lane of Main Street will remain open. The closure dates and times are May 4, May 5, and May 6 from 8:00am to 4:00pm. See the attached map.
