City of Wilsonville to Host "Stay at Home and Read" Fundraiser
The Wilsonville Library Foundation calling all readers to relax, take a load off, and enjoy a weekend of reading for a good cause.
The Foundation’s first “Stay at Home and Read” Fundraiser takes place Feb. 16-19. Get comfortable in your favorite spot, open a book, and start reading.
“Spend an evening getting lost in a great book and donate the money you would have spent in support your library,” said Bob Renfro, President of the Wilsonville Public Library Foundation.
Donations can be made at wplf.org or in person at the Wilsonville Public Library.
Why donate? The Wilsonville Library Foundation supports reading through several great community programs, including:
- Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which inspires a love of reading by mailing books free of charge to Wilsonville children from birth until their fifth birthday.
- Books and reading lessons with our outreach librarian for childcare centers, preschools, and primary schools.
- Summer Reading Program for birth to school-aged children.
- Little Free Libraries provide better book access for all in our community.
For more information on the Stay at Home and Read Fundraiser, visit https://wplf.org or contact Maegan Vidal, 503-680-7008 maeganvidal@gmail.com

Safety Spotlight — Health and Safety Reminders
Cold and flu season continues across Oregon and Clackamas County Public Health has several reminders for students and families to help prevent illness in our schools. If your student is healthy (no chronic illnesses or diseases), we encourage them to come to school (unless of course, your doctor specifies something different).
Make sure your family is eating healthy, being active and getting enough sleep.
Wash hands frequently.
Consider wearing a mask in public settings to reduce unwanted exposure and protect others if you are in that early phase of becoming sick.
Stay home when feeling unwell.
Get vaccinated (if possible).
Last but not least, help our kids learn the why and how of navigating illnesses to protect themselves as well as others when we are not well.
The Oregon Health Authority and Clackamas County Health Department continue to monitor active cases of communicable illnesses and recommend best practices to school districts.
