Cooper Families,
We are officially starting to wrap up the year. As I reflect on the year, I am so grateful for your partnership and being a big part of the reason Cooper is such an amazing place to be.
Tomorrow we are able to celebrate the money we were able to raise for Boosterthon. I look forward to sharing some pictures of the kids turning me into a banana split!!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Despite overwhelming need, nearly 30 million people across the U.S. don’t have access to affordable, comprehensive mental health and substance use treatment. The stark truth is:
- Around 1 in 5 adults experienced some mental illness in the past year.
- 1 in 20 adults experienced serious mental illness in the past year.
- 1 in 5 youth have a mental health condition, with anxiety being the most common condition.
- Globally, about 35% of mental illness emerges by age 14, with nearly 63% appearing by age 25.
- In 2023, 20% of high school students in the U.S. considered suicide.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, an annual observance founded by Mental Health America in 1949 to highlight the importance of mental wellbeing, educate the public, reduce stigma and promote support for those affected by mental health conditions. Each year, individuals and organizations come together to raise awareness and advocate for better mental health care and resources. Below you will find links to learn more about how to advocate for mental health care and how to help those you love take care of their mental health.

District Events and Information
- REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION FOR DISABLED PERSONS The director of human resource, who is the ADA Compliance Officer, shall ensure that the following notice is made a part of each communication concerning a District activity to which the public is invited: "Upon request to the director of human resource, the District shall make reasonable accommodation including the provision of informational material in an alternative format for a disabled person to be able to participate in this activity."
Cartwheel is Here to Support Students and Families
As a reminder, Cartwheel is a proactive resource for students struggling with anxiety, focus challenges, school avoidance, or any mental health concerns that need extra support — a chance to connect students with care before challenges escalate.
Cartwheel also provides parent guidance, giving families the opportunity to speak with a clinician about what they're observing and get support as they figure out how to best help their child.
Families can reach out directly via our interest form — every submission is reviewed and approved by our team before anyone is connected to care. You can make a referral directly here.
Elementary Transfer Requests
Elementary transfer requests for the 2026-27 school year are currently being accepted. Elementary transfer requests are for students residing in Superior who request an elementary school that is not in the boundary area. Forms are due via email to enrollment@superior.k12.wi.us by March 6, 2026. The form can be found on our website under Parents or by clicking this link to access the form.
