What is a Parliament?
A group of owls is called a parliament.
At Live Oak Academy, our Parliament is made up of wise Owls working together, spreading their wings, and flying toward graduation!
Parents and families, thank you for helping us have such a successful first week of school! Your partnership, patience, communication, and support make a tremendous difference.
Most importantly, I am incredibly proud of our students. Our Owls showed up, followed expectations, and represented Live Oak Academy exceptionally well. We have started this year strong, and now it is time to keep that momentum going!

reminders and updates with our Owl families.

PARKING @ LOA
All LOA must have a parking permit to park in the student parking lot
Starting Monday August 24, 2026, students parked in LOA student parking without a permit may be booted or towed
If you need a parking permit, please purchase with the QR code below and see Ms. Jennings in the front office Monday/
STUDENT ID'S
Our Owls Have Done Owlcellent with ID’s this first week! Students are required to wear an ID visible around their neck every day. Students may ask for 1 temporary ID per week.
After that, a new ID will need to be purchased.
TECHNOLOGY
📵 DEVICE EXPECTATIONS
I am extremely proud of how well our Owls followed our device expectations during the first week of school. We had a few students have their cell phones taken up and put into the Cell Phone Safe. Great job, Owls!
Reminder for the year: students who do not follow our device expectations will have the violation documented in TEAMS (discipline reporting system) and will receive a discipline referral. Please continue reviewing these expectations with your Owl so we can maintain the strong start we have already established.
CHROMEBOOKS
We are working diligently to get Chromebooks to all of our Owls! We encourage all students to purchase the District Protection Plan. This covers all accidental damage to the student's Chromebooks. Without the protection plan, all charges will be applied to the student's account and will need to be paid prior to the end of the year.
COUNSELOR UPDATE
Hays CISD’s TACRAO COLLEGE FAIR Central Texas, September 23, 2026 at CTX Buda--see the attached flyer for a list of participating colleges and programs. Students will need to sign up on the link below AND turn in a permission form to Mrs. Crowe, School Counselor.

Free College Application Week October 12-18, 2026
Free College Application Week is a statewide initiative that helps Texas residents apply to public colleges at no cost.
Created by Senate Bill 2231 during the 89th Texas Legislative Session, all public colleges and universities in Texas are required to waive admission application fees for Texas residents who apply through ApplyTexas to undergraduate programs.
When is it? October 12-18, 2026
Applications must be submitted through ApplyTexas by 11:59 p.m. CDT on the last day of Free College Application Week to qualify. Applications that are started but not submitted before Free College Application Week ends are not be eligible.
All Texas residents applying for undergraduate admission at Texas public institutions through ApplyTexas may participate.
This includes first-time college students and transfer students. For details on residency status, see the Texas Residency Guidelines.
