Announcement!
The 2025 Powder Puff total has been tallied!!! This year the program raised $44,106.53 to be able to donate back into the community to the Jim Bashaw Cancer and Catastrophic Fund, Camp Ta Kum Ta, and scholarships in Jim Bashaw's name at both MVU and BFA. This means that the program has raised over $397,000 since 2009, minus 2020. It is amazing what kids can do, when they are given the chance.
Community Movie Night
Movie Night was a community hit! We had students of all ages in MRUSD who attended and the Spirit Council did a great job running the event. We made a spooky punch, cotton candy, cauldrons of candy, and of course, popcorn! Thank you to the Boosters for donating the popcorn, to all our BFA chaperones, and CPSC!
Forms Night
Several students and families attended Forms Night with Katie Gesser from VSAC and school counselors to get hands-on help completing your FAFSA on Wednesday Oct 22nd @ 5:30PM in the BFA Library.
The FAFSA is required by most colleges and scholarships—it’s the key to unlocking financial aid and making college more affordable.

PSAT/SAT OCT 29th schedule
Dear Students and Families,
This fall, all 10th- and 11th-grade students at BFA will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 29, during the school day. The district will cover the cost of the assessment to ensure equity and access for every student.
The PSAT gives us another valuable data point beyond the 9th-grade VTCAP to measure student growth across high school. By reviewing results over time, we can better understand how students are progressing and where they may need additional support.
For 11th graders, the PSAT also serves as the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program, which provides opportunities for recognition and scholarships nationwide.
Benefits of the PSAT include:
Identifying strengths and areas for growth in reading, writing, and math.
Offering meaningful feedback to guide instruction and support postsecondary planning.
Providing equitable access to a nationally recognized test at no cost.
Giving students practice with standardized testing in a lower-stakes environment before the SAT.
Connecting students to scholarship opportunities and the College Board’s college readiness resources.
We are excited to offer this opportunity to all students and appreciate your support as they prepare to take part.
12th grade students who already registered will also take the SAT at this time.
