Thanks so much to everyone who helped make Bingo Night such a huge success! Mrs. Lamont and the rest of the Peirce staff who volunteered really made it a special community event. And thanks so much to parents Sarah Pierson and Tracie DeGuglielmo for coordinating parent volunteers and spearheading the raffle!

Peirce Multicultural Night - March 22 - 6PM Peirce Multicultural Night - March 22 - 6PM

zoom_out_map

We are looking forward to Peirce Multicultural Night on Friday, March 22 at 6 p.m. in the gym and cafeteria. Here are some things to look forward to:

Raffles! Thanks so much to South Asian subscription box company Toka Box, for their generous donation of their Celebrate Holi! box, which will be up for raffle at the event. You'll get all the materials you need to celebrate Holi, the Indian Festival of Colors, at home. Come buy a raffle ticket at Multicultural Night!

Instructional drummer! Students will learn how to drum from Jafar Manselle, the leader of The Wendell Warriors--a performance drum class formed five years ago. Over the past 35 years, Jafar has performed throughout New England with many Boston-based dance troupes. Over the same time period he has taught drumming in the Boston and Cambridge Public Schools. He now works with the Five Colleges as an accompanist for African Dance classes. Jafar also plays in a Boston-based jazz band and a reggae band here in Western Mass called "Root Jiyah."

Create a cultural table! Families are encouraged to set up a table that promotes and helps students explore a particular culture. Tables can feature games, art activities, local alphabets, stories, images and trivia related to your or a culture that you’re passionate about.

Please note that this does not have to be too involved—we are happy to welcome any and all engagement! We’d love representation from any other parts of the world (think Europe, North America, Central/South America, Asia, Australia, etc.). You are also welcome to collaborate with other groups’ tables! No contribution is too small.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

The Peirce Snack Program, supported by Arlington EATS, provides snacks to any child who needs one (for any reason) so there is no stigma attached to getting a snack at school. Snacks are available in the classrooms and in the main office.

Support The Snack Program: If you have the ability, please consider supporting our snack program by donating snacks. Over the last year demand for snacks has increased significantly while donations have declined. You can purchase off the Amazon wish list by clicking the button below, or by donating snacks or money directly. Donations are welcome throughout the school year.

Dear Parents,

In the depths of winter as we begin to imagine spring is on the horizon we are preparing for next year. Attached is the enrollment form for Arlington After-School Program for the 2024-2025 school year.

The form should be returned to the school by Monday March 25th. Please return it either as a hard copy or as an attachment to a separate email to aasppeirce@arlington.k12.ma.us. Please do not respond to this email with your registration, as it's easy for it to get lost in the email thread.

We will process the forms as quickly as we can and will be getting back to everyone by April 1st to let you know your status.

We are including the enrollment policy. Please look it over. If you have any questions you can contact your site coordinator (aasppeirce@arlington.k12.ma.us) or Todd Morse (tmorse@arlington.k12.ma.us).

Please be sure to circle your school at the top right of the form.

We will be looking forward to new and returning families joining the program in the fall.

Thank you

The Lost & Found is located on the 1st floor by the elevators. We would appreciate it families could label clothes and water bottles to minimize all that has to be donated. We try and take pictures of most items in the lost and found but it does become overwhelming.

Please be sure to check out our google photos for your students lost sweatshirts, water bottles and lunch boxes. The lost and found is already overwhelmed with items.

Based on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale and featuring an unforgettable score, Peter Pan Jr. is one of the most beloved family favorites of all time. Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce Indian tribe, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook. Featuring the iconic songs, “I’m Flying,” “I’ve Gotta Crow,” “I Won’t Grow Up” and “Never Never Land,” and a rousing book full of magic, warmth and adventure, Peter Pan Jr. is the perfect show for the child in all of us… who dreamed of soaring high and never growing up.
