A Message From the Principal

Dear Academy Families and Friends,

You have to love the change of the seasons, the cool breezes bring the crisp smell of Fall in the air. While I enjoy the cool, I could do just fine without all this rain. Here's a few things to note as we begin the final week of September:

Open House is Monday night (tomorrow) from 6-8 PM. We hope to see all of our families here tomorrow night.
Grade 5 Band: There's still time to join. See the info below!!! Instrument pick up in on September 30th.
Wrapping up the assessment window, this data is very important to planning small group and tiered instruction.
We're happy to announce the return of the Amplify Grant for select students in grade 1. More info to come for the program.
Fun Run is only a month away-please register your child for the big day. It's our big annual fundraiser!
Walk to school day is coming on October 9th...click here for more info.
During October, students in Grades 3-5 will take the Panorama Survey!
Broad Street Place parking. We want to make sure our neighbors can access the road. Cars need to be clear of neighbors driveway. Being a dead end, it's very hard for our neighbors to get in an out during dismissal-please use Top Lot whenever possible.

5th Grade Band Instrument Night is NEXT Wednesday, September 30th, at the Maria Chapman Middle School. It will run from 6:30-7:30PM. Families may come to pick up their RENTAL instruments anytime between 6:30-7:30PM.

Please put smart watches and phones on School mode

Smart Phone and Smart Watches

In an effort to allow smartwatches for before and after school security, please have student watches on school mode and refrain from interacting during school hours. If it continues to be an issue, students will be asked to put the watch in their backpack or locker until the end of the day. We will always support you and your child with any needs you may encounter throughout the school day and connect with you if necessary. We want to foster good habits and help students learn to successfully navigate the time they are away from their families.

Families can alway semail staff or contact the main office/nurse's office if they need to contact the students during the day.

Attendance Counts

It's a heated race to 5 for the Attendance Board. Who's going to win round 1? Parents, please remember to use the hotline for every absence. Attendance matters!

Fresh Fruits and Veggies

Kids are loving the new program from Food Services!. Every Tuesday and Thursday, kids will have the opportunity to try new fruits/veggies.

Panorama Survey is Back

During the 2026-2027 school year, we will continue to use the Panorama survey for students in Grades 3-12. Survey data helps us determine if we are meeting students’ learning needs and to evaluate the progress of our social-emotional learning practices.
