Families, We Need Your Help
We would like to begin testing for Highly Capable this week. Forms have been sent home for all second and fifth graders who we are required to test. Other grades have received a nomination form. Can you please return those forms this week so we can get started identifying our highly capable students. Forms are attached here and can be picked up in the office if the copy didn't make it home. Thank you!
Attendance Matters at Loon Lake!
Pumpkin Patch Fun
Kindergarten through second grade students traveled to Green Bluff on Thursday to visit the pumpkin patch. They took a Narrated Hayride Around the Farm, listened to a Bee Talk (students sit in the apple orchard, learn how bees pollinate and get to pick an apple), ran through a Tire Maze (including photo ops and straw bale mountain), went to the U-pick Pumpkin Patch (small sugar pie pumpkin, 2-5 lbs, that students can carry), had a yummy snack (mini pumpkin doughnuts and fresh pressed apple cider, see below for doughnut ingredients), visited with Penelope the Giant Talking Pumpkin (2026 will be her 52nd year talking with local school kids, a true Green Bluff tradition!), and explored Frontier Village (grain silo, playground, and petting zoo: chickens, ducks, geese, sheep, goats, pigs, peafowl, and rabbits). It was a wonderful adventure!
Building Bonds, Making Friends
They are the best of friends already. The first month away from parents and in a new school setting is never easy, but this group has bonded!
Building Towers, Problem-Solving
Whether it is digging a hole to the other side of the earth or building a tower to space, our kindergarteners are working together to solve the world's problems! One thing is for sure, if this group of kindergarteners is the future, we are in good hands!
Stained Glass Artist in the Making
Jeremiah took no time at all to create his first masterpiece. In two sessions with Mr. Baily, he put together his beautiful stained glass apple. Way to go, Jeremiah!
