Message from the Principal - April 12, 2024
Hello Pyle Families,
We have had an amazing week! This week our students learned about a Solar Eclipse, celebrated reading success with Jester reading, attended Student of the Month ceremonies, became actors in our chorus show for fifth and sixth graders, and had a visit from ST Math's JiJi the Penguin!
We love celebrating our students' learning successes with them.
Next week grades 3-6 begin State testing. Please help your student prepare by having a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast. This is a great opportunity to show what they have learned.
Attendance Challenge: We will have our next "No Tardy Party" in May to celebrate all students on time each day they attend school. The attendance challenge to go to the "No Tardy Party" will be from Monday, April 15, to Wednesday, May 15. Dates for the No Tardy Party will be shared along with the activity for the event soon. Set your alarms, and be on time to get to this celebration.

School Store
Ernie Pyle has partnered with "School Store." We have already had many families share this information with families and friends and students have earned reading buddy prizes to encourage their love of reading. Thank you to those of you who have already used the link provided to conduct your online shopping and to those of you who have donated gift cards to our classrooms. Students can continue turning in envelopes with the code earned from sharing 10 emails to earn their reading buddy all year long. Additional prizes can be earned by using our link to begin your everyday online shopping journey. We appreciate your support!

Safety First - Ernie Pyle verkada SIGN IN SYSTEM
All BUSD schools use the Verkada sign-in system. All visitors on campus will be asked to scan their ID to sign into our visitor management system and receive a sticker complete with the visitor's name and picture to let everyone on campus know that the person has signed in and is clear to be on campus. If you need to come onto campus for any reason please be sure to have your ID with you so that you can sign into our system.
FREE on the Ernie Pyle Campus - YMCA Before School Care
The YMCA has partnered with Ernie Pyle to provide free child care before school. This program through BUSD is offered at no cost to families, at all elementary sites. This program has a capacity of 30 students per school through YMCA. Students will be provided breakfast, engage in fun games and activities, and be able to connect with friends before school. If you would like to enroll in our before-school program, please CLICK HERE and be sure to complete one Google form for each student. After you have completed the registration link, you will be contacted by the YMCA to complete any additional needed enrollment forms. At this time, we have not exceeded program capacity and still have spaces available.
