NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 3 | 19 FEBRUARY 2026
Good afternoon parents and caregivers,
This week marks the beginning of the Lenten season, one of the most sacred and reflective times in our Liturgical calendar. Lent is a forty–day journey that invites us to pause, pray, and prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter. It is a season grounded in prayer, fasting and almsgiving, calling us to grow closer to God and to one another through acts of kindness, sacrifice and service. On Wednesday, Father Leonard, Mrs Curtis, and our Year Six students led a beautiful Ash Wednesday Liturgy. Students from Kindergarten to Year Six received ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a cross, a meaningful act of remembrance and a visible sign of faith. The ashes remind us of our call to turn back to God, to seek forgiveness, and to begin Lent with open and humble hearts. It was a reverent and prayerful celebration that set the tone for the journey ahead as a faith-filled school community.
Week Two concluded with a fantastic P&F Welcome Back Social held on the school oval. It was wonderful to see such strong support from our families and staff, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for all. Our new families enjoyed the opportunity to connect with existing members of our community, and the sense of belonging and community spirit was certainly evident throughout the evening. The food trucks served a variety of delicious options, adding to the relaxed and festive feel of the event. We were also fortunate to have our creative Year Nine students from Mater Dei College offering their talents as face painters, their designs were a huge hit with the children! A sincere thank you to Lynda Clark for coordinating such a wonderful event. It was a terrific way to begin the school year and strengthen the connections within our school community.
On Sunday, our staff joined with the staff of St Anthony’s to be commissioned into the new school year during Mass celebrated by Father Peter. It was a beautiful celebration, serving as a meaningful reminder of our strong connection with the Parish and the shared mission that unites our school and parish communities. Following Mass, staff and parishioners gathered for a lovely morning tea and we extend our sincere thanks to the Parish for coordinating the morning tea.
Lastly, I sincerely appreciate our families' patience during drop-off and pick-up times and for adhering to the City of Wanneroo parking guidelines. A gentle reminder that if you are using the Kiss and Drive, please remain in your vehicle, as this area is not designated for parking and to refrain from parking on the footpaths outside the school grounds.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
God bless
Rebecca Clarke

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
It has been a really positive start to the term and the weeks are certainly flying by. Classrooms are settled, students are engaged in their learning and there is a wonderful sense of purpose around the school.
It was fantastic to see our Year 4 students present their first assembly, focusing on gratitude and kindness. They spoke with confidence and shared an important message about recognising the good around us and showing appreciation for others. Thank you to the Year 4 team for their preparation and to the families who were able to attend.
Congratulations to our newly elected Student Councillors. We look forward to them beginning their leadership journey and having their first meeting with Mr Mastan next week. We are excited to see the positive impact they will have across our school community.
Today, a Your Move pamphlet was sent home with your child. This initiative encourages students to consider active transport options such as walking, riding or scooting to school where possible. Active travel supports student wellbeing, independence and environmental awareness, and we look forward to seeing many of our students get involved
A reminder that if you have any sacramental forms to be returned, please ensure these are sent to Mrs Curtis as soon as possible.
God Bless!
