Alternate Instructional Schedule

To make sure all students get equal learning time throughout the year, there are times we adjust the schedule when there's a day off (like a Monday holiday). Instead of skipping that day, we ‘move’ the missed day to another day that week. This way, classes like PE, STEM, Art, and Music stay balanced for everyone!

How It Works

  • If there’s no school on a Monday, we might follow a Monday schedule on Tuesday or Thursday instead.

  • This helps all students get a fair number of learning days.

Schedule Change Dates

  • No school on Monday, Sept 7 → We run a Monday schedule on Thursday, Sept 10

  • No school on Monday, Jan 18 → We run a Monday schedule on Wednesday, Jan 20

  • No school on Tuesday, Jan 19 → We run a Tuesday schedule on Thursday, Jan 21

Why Adjust the Schedule?

Some days (like Mondays) are missed more often due to holidays. Here’s how the schedule gets more balanced:

This plan helps keep learning fair and consistent for all students. Thank you for your support!

Technology update and iReady Information

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN PE? WHAT'S HAPPENING IN PE?

August in PE

This month in Mrs. Shanel and Mr. Secor’s P.E. class, students worked on different locomotor movements, manipulative movement patterns, and kindness through sportsmanship and competition.

K-2nd grade worked on staying in their own space, different ways on how to move safely through our gym space, and different ways we can be kind to one another in P.E. class. We are starting to work on throwing and catching using the tic-tok method for underhand throwing.

3rd-5th grade worked on different manipulative patterns utilizing different pieces of equipment. We are also working on how to appreciate competition and being good sports with winning and losing. We are doing this by teaching students to be proud of themselves if they win, but to also be proud and acknowledge each other’s efforts whether you win or lose.

All classes are also learning about different ways to be safe. Examples being:

  • Wearing appropriate shoes for P.E. class

  • Keeping our bodies in control during P.E. so we don’t run into anyone or anything

  • Wearing a helmet while riding a bike/scooter/etc.

  • The importance of stretching/warming up before any physical activity

September starts our “SHOE TIE” club! Stay tuned for more information!

BIRTHDAYS AT WILD ROSE BIRTHDAYS AT WILD ROSE

We love to celebrate birthdays at Wild Rose. Your child’s birthday will be announced on our morning announcements or, Panther TV, when it is up and running. We have a Panther Paw Book VENDING MACHINE!!! Every student will receive a special token to choose a book for their birthday!

We do not allow food or other items to be brought in for birthday celebrations, so please do not send anything to school with your child.

Some of our classrooms have a tradition of inviting parents or other special guests on the day of the birthday to read a book. Classroom teachers will be sharing that information in their class newsletters.

We do allow a parent(s) or special adult in a student's life to come and have lunch with them. We do not allow other siblings to attend, and do limit visitors to a maximum of 2 adults. You are welcome to bring your student a special lunch. Please let the office know if you will be coming in to have a birthday lunch with your child.

Message From: Sharon Lenning

Subject: 5th Grade Choir

Dear Families of 5th Grade Students,

We are thrilled to announce that this year D303 is once again offering a 5th Grade Choir Program for ALL elementary schools! This program will run in a similar fashion as the current Elementary Band and Orchestra programs, with a weekly before school rehearsal, but will NOT conflict with current band and orchestra rehearsals. The choir program will run from late September through May, with our first rehearsal being Monday, September 28th!

Choir will meet on Monday mornings at Wild Rose Elementary in the music room from 8:05 - 8:50 a.m. Parents / guardians are responsible for dropping their choir students off at Wild Rose. There will not be choir rehearsals on student non-attendance days.Students will also be asked to purchase a choir t-shirt. There will be 2 performance dates:

There is an ensemble fee to participate in choir. The fee for choir is $20.00 and will be billed to you through PushCoin a few weeks after you sign up.

one Tuesday, January 26th at East High School and one Monday, May 3rd featuring just the 5th grade choirs. The January 26th concert is called Vertical Voices and we will be singing with other choirs 5th-12th grade. It is a great opportunity for our younger choir members to see and hear what they do in middle and high school!

If you would like to register your student for 5th Grade Choir, please click the link below:
