PSAT at CHS on Wednesday, 10/28/26
Cherokee High School will be administering the PSAT/NMSQT test to 10th grade students on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for 10th grade students who are automatically assigned to test for free.
ALSO on 10/28/26, 9th grade students who signed up for PSAT 8/9 prior to 9/18 will take the PSAT 8/9. 11th grade students who signed up for PSAT/NMSQT prior to the 9/18 deadline will also take the PSAT. 12th grade students who signed up for the SAT prior to the 9/18 will take the SAT.
NOTE: 10/28/26 will be an early release day for those taking the PSAT or SAT at CHS and a digital day (do not report to campus) for ANY students NOT taking the PSAT or SAT.
After testing concludes, students will be allowed to leave campus unless parents wish for their students to remain at school for the rest of the day by filling out this FORM. Please do NOT fill out the form unless you DO NOT give permission for your student to leave campus after testing.
Students who leave must be picked up, and buses will run as normal at 3:30 for students who remain on campus. Students may NOT leave campus and then return to ride the bus. Lunch will be served after testing concludes for students who remain on campus for the rest of the day.
Students will be picked up in the CHS car rider line, but we do ask for your patience with the dismissal time since we must follow College Board testing protocols.
All students who are participating in testing on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, will be expected to report to school at regular time, no later than 8:30am.
Please be advised that our dismissal may be delayed due to testing procedures and required test administration times. We anticipate dismissal time to be between 12:35 and 12:55 if there are no issues. Dismissal will take place once the test administration for the school is complete. We want to ensure a quiet and distraction-free environment for all test takers.
9th, 11th and 12th grade students who are not testing should not report to school.
For students not attending school to test on 10/28, teachers will post remediation and recovery assignments in Canvas by 8 am on 10/28. All teachers will be either proctoring exams or in a supervisory role during the day. They will not be able to respond to e-mails immediately.
Students who remain on campus after testing will have remediation and recovery assignments and a schedule to follow. Those assignments will also be available in Canvas for students who leave campus after testing. Students MAY NOT leave campus and then return to ride the bus home. Lunch will be served, and buses will dismiss as per normal at 3:30.

THANKSGIVING BASKET FUNDRAISER is BACK
Cherokee High School Families,
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and we are excited to once again come together to help families in need right here in our Cherokee County School District!
What started several years ago with just 6 Thanksgiving baskets has grown into an incredible community-wide service project. Last year, with the help of generous families, local businesses, sports teams, and organizations, we provided over 230 Thanksgiving baskets to families in our schools!
This year, our goal is to provide approximately 300 Thanksgiving baskets across participating Cherokee County schools!
🦃 Cherokee High School’s goal is 50 complete Thanksgiving baskets!
Each basket contains everything a family needs to prepare a delicious Thanksgiving dinner, including traditional sides, desserts, and a $50 grocery gift card to purchase their turkey and other perishable items. Each completed basket has an approximate value of $150.
How can you help?
❤️ Donate individual items: Every contribution, big or small, helps us complete a basket for a family in need.
❤️ Sponsor a complete basket: Cherokee High School sports teams, clubs, student organizations, and groups of friends are encouraged to come together and donate an entire basket! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to participate in a meaningful community service project while learning the importance of giving back.
❤️ Make it a team effort: Gather your teammates or club members, shop together, and assemble a basket as a group!
📍 Donation Drop-Off: All donations can be brought directly to Cherokee High School.
📅 Donation Deadline: Monday, November 2, 2026.
The beautiful thing about this project is that every basket stays right here in Cherokee County, helping families within our own school communities enjoy a special Thanksgiving meal together.
We are incredibly grateful for the generosity Cherokee High School families have shown over the years. With your help, we can reach our goal of 50 baskets and make this Thanksgiving a little brighter for families who need it most.
Thank you for helping us make a difference, one basket and one family at a time! 🧡🦃
Sincerely,
Kristie Duncan
Together, Cherokee County can make a difference!

Parking Info and Applications--SEPTEMBER UPDATE
Parking Info and Applications
2026-2027 Parking Information
The application window is open to all students with a valid driver's license while parking permits are still available.
Once the online application has been submitted and reviewed, you will receive an email confirming whether the application has been approved. Approved students may then visit the Attendance Office (Student Services) during their lunch period to pick up their parking pass.
Please note:
1. Students may not drive to school unless they have received their parking sticker. Students should arrange alternate transportation until their permit is obtained.
2. Students are required to park only in their assigned parking space. Parking in another student's assigned space is a violation of school parking regulations and will result in disciplinary consequences.
3. If another vehicle is parked in your assigned space, please do not park in another student's spot. Instead, park in Lot M (located on the visitor's side of the football stadium) in spaces M101-M126 and report the issue to the Attendance Office as soon as you arrive.
4. If Students need to drive an alternate vehicle temporarily (i.e.: students' vehicle in the shop) they must go to the Attendance Office and pick up a temporary parking pass to place on the dashboard of the temporary vehicle.
Application Process (Link is below)
Please complete ALL sections of the form carefully. Student will be required to provide:
· Their CCSD student email address
· An alternate email address (A parent/guardian email may be used)
Both the student and alternate email will be used to send an email stating that application is approved.

· Please read and follow all instructions carefully before submitting the application.
Required Documents
Students must upload the following:
· Copy of valid driver's license
· Proof of insurance showing the student as an insured driver (Students name MUST be on the documentation)

Submitting incomplete or incorrect documentation may delay processing and could result in the student having to wait until the first day of school to purchase a parking permit.
Both the student and parent/guardian must sign the form acknowledging that they have read and understand the Parking Rules and Regulations. Missing signatures will delay the application process.
