The Dawg Dispatch is our weekly snapshot of life as a Bulldawg, straight facts, clear wins, and what’s next, so families and staff can pull in the same direction. It reflects our mission:
“The mission of the Aberdeen School District is to inspire ALL students to become problem-solvers, lifelong learners, and productive members of society.”

Little Learners Witness a Big Transformation
Kindergarten students in Mrs. Williamson and Mrs. Dyess’s classes experienced science in the most hands-on way, watching the complete life cycle unfold right before their eyes. 🐛🦋
From tiny caterpillars that ate and grew, to forming a chrysalis, students observed each stage with excitement and curiosity. As the chrysalis darkened, anticipation built—until finally, beautiful butterflies emerged.
Students cared for the butterflies by providing sugar water and clover inside their habitat, watching as they strengthened their wings. The experience came full circle as students released the butterflies outside, sending them off into the world.
To wrap up their learning, students wrote about the process and created beautiful butterfly artwork to display on their classroom door.
Learning like this sticks for a lifetime.
"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today."

Learning in Motion: SCOOT! in Action
Learning was in full swing in Mrs. Bell’s class as students sharpened their skills while playing a fast-paced game of SCOOT! ✏️📚
This engaging activity kept students moving, thinking, and having fun—all at the same time. It’s always a good day when learning and excitement go hand in hand!
Third Graders Celebrated with GATE Send-Off Parade
This week, our 3rd graders took on the 3rd Grade GATE assessment with confidence and support behind them!
Before testing began, students were cheered on by their peers and central office staff as they walked through a spirited parade filled with encouragement and excitement. It was a powerful moment that reminded them they are supported every step of the way.
We are proud of our students for their hard work and determination and we always encourage them to show what you know!
Real-World Learning Comes to Life for Students
Welcome to the Real-World Experience, where learning goes beyond the classroom and purpose meets preparation!
Students in Ms. Nichols, Ms. Sykes, and Coach Tee’s classes stepped into real-life scenarios, managing finances by paying bills, creating budgets, and making important decisions based on careers and salaries. This was more than a lesson; it was life in action.
A special thank you to Ms. Kayla Dowdon of the Mississippi State University Extension Service in Monroe County for investing in our students and equipping them with practical skills they will carry for a lifetime.
Honoring Achievement Across Our District
Monday night, at our monthly Board of Trustees meeting, we had the opportunity to recognize some outstanding achievements across our district.
The Lopez sisters were celebrated for achieving their first solo flights, becoming the first and second students to reach this incredible milestone.
K. Hubbard was recognized for being named Star Student.
TSA awards were presented to A. Hazzle and Q. Walker.
We also honored our high school students who earned Platinum and Gold on their WorkKeys assessment.
We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and excellence our students continue to demonstrate.
Celebrating Excellence!
Congratulations to Cadet Major NyErica Linzy on being awarded the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Award by the Monroe County Chapter.
