Dear Pre-K Families,
We are excited to invite you and your child to join us for a special celebration of
National Kindergarten Day on Tuesday, April 21st, from 2:15 PM to 3:30 PM at Edith Teter Elementary.
This will be a fun, outdoor, kite-themed event designed to welcome our future kindergarten families and give you a chance to experience our school community in a relaxed and joyful way. We are so excited to meet you, spend time with your children, and begin building the connections that make our school such a special place to learn and grow.
Arrival information:
On this day, families should enter through Edith Teter Elementary and check in at the
front office before being directed to the outdoor event area. We truly believe that school works best when families and schools partner together, and we hope this event helps you and your child feel at home at Edith Teter. We would love to celebrate with you and share a little glimpse of what makes our school such a wonderful place for students.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child on April 21st!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jennifer Buttars

It's Not JUST Preschool.
Preschool is where children begin to understand the world beyond their families. It’s where curiosity is nurtured, friendships are formed, and the foundations of lifelong learning are built. In these early years, children develop critical social and emotional skills—like sharing, listening, problem-solving, and expressing themselves. These skills shape who they become as learners and as people.
Preschool introduces structure in a gentle, supportive way. It helps children gain confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. Through play, exploration, and guided activities, they begin to develop early literacy, language, and math skills. They are born scientists and explorers and at preschool they are given the opportunity to hone their skills.
Most importantly, preschool helps children discover that school is a safe, exciting place where they are valued and capable. It’s not just preparation for kindergarten—it’s preparation for future success, resilience, and a love of learning.
