Open House at BAEC-Under the Sea

Dear BAEC Families:

Hello! Please join us at our elementary open house next week. I cordially invite you to attend to meet and greet your children's talented teachers and to visit their engaging learning environments.

Our open house is always a huge success and, we are overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude by the family members who show support for their children and for their community school.

I personally look forward to another enjoyable evening with you and I am pleased to have the opportunity to meet the families of our students.

Grades K - 2: Tuesday, September 19, 2023: 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

5:00 pm - 6:30 pm: Families whose last names begin with the letters A - M

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm: Families whose last names begin with the letters N - Z.

(Suggested hours to visit your children's teachers so there is available parking, and there is time to visit the book fair and food truck)

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm: Families whose last names begin with the letters N - Z.

*Mr. Campa (Physical Education), Mrs. Bailey (Learning Support), Mrs. Betschart (Music), Miss Carr (Learning Support), Mrs. Nardone (Title I Math), and Mrs. Martello (Speech) will be in attendance.

Please know that Open House is an opportunity to visit your community school and meet the wonderful educators who work with your children every day. This is not a conference night to discuss grades or a night to discuss court orders/custody issues. Teachers and staff will be happy to have a conversation with you but ask that you save that more detailed conversation for a private setting such as a parent-teacher conference. Thank you for your cooperation.

Parking is available at BAEC as well as the Middle/High School. The BAEC doors open at 5:00 pm.

📣M/HS Cheerleaders: We will have the M/HS cheerleaders at BAEC to greet and welcome our guests and spread some Blue Devil cheer to all.

🚍Food Truck: Bob & Cindy Lonick's Food Truck will be onsite as we had in past years. Families will be able to purchase hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, and nachos, along with a variety of drinks. Cash or Venmo will be accepted at the truck.

📚Book Fair: The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the BAEC library on the second floor. Stacey Kaiser and BEST Committee volunteers will be hosting the book fair. We are trying to reach a goal of $2000.00 in profits. The monies help fund the student agendas and folders, classroom events, field trips, assemblies, and end-of-year grade-level activities.

Parents/Guardians must accompany their children at the book fair.

💖BEST Committee: The BEST (Burgettstown Educational Support Team - Parent Committee) will be hosting a Chinese Auction and Spirit Shop in the gymnasium. Cash, Venmo, and Credit Card will be accepted for the Spirit Shop and Auction Tickets. If you are interested in joining the BEST Committee, there will be an opportunity to sign up and join us. 🍎Cafeteria: Mr. Hal Minford, Aramark Food Service Director, will be in the elementary cafeteria to answer any questions about food service.

🚌School Bus: Mrs. Slay and BASD bus drivers will attend and speak to you about bus safety. Stop by and visit their table.

🍭Title I: Mrs. Ferencuha and our Title I staff will be present in the cafeteria. Please plan on participating as a family in the STEM activity: Bioluminescent Fun with Title I.

🎫Social Studies: Mr. Rendulic, BAEC Social Studies Department Chair, will have posters and calendars to raffle off. Don't forget to stop by this table to register for a chance to win!

💙🤍Our Blue Devil mascot, Dutch, will be making a guest appearance too!

8:00 pm: BAEC doors close. School resumes the next morning at 9:00 am.
