Message from Dr. Snedden
- PATH is in need of parent volunteers for our upcoming Field Day on May 15th. Please take a moment to review the flyer and help spread the word to families. If parents are unable to attend, donations are also being accepted. Thank you for supporting PATH and helping make this a great experience for our students.
- I continue to be impressed with the hard work happening across classrooms. Our students are showing effort and growth, and that is a direct reflection of you. Thank you for all you are doing each day.
- As we move into the final stretch of the school year, please continue to be present, visible, and actively supervising students. Consistency matters, especially this time of year.
- Lastly, a reminder that this Friday is a planned day off (no school, not a Virtual Learning Day) due to High School Prom. Please note that ACC students will still attend their regular classes, as ACC is not canceled.
Thank you for your continued commitment to our students and to each other.
Let’s have a great week,
Dr. Snedden

From Mr. Smith- Technology News
This is a tentative schedule for iPad collection. It is possible for the dates to change depending on any changes to high school finals that may occur.
- High school finals will be collected after the last final. It is imperative we front load students they will need to show up to school that day even if they do not have a final as iPads need to be collected.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
iPad Collection Procedures 2026
The iPad collection will take place before the high school finals for the middle school and after the last high school final. Please read the information below carefully to ensure a smooth process for both students and staff.
Middle School Collection Schedule – May 20 (Wed)
6th Grade – 8:00 AM
7th Grade – 9:15 AM
8th Grade – 10:30 AM
High School Collection Schedule – May 27 (Wed)
All of High School will begin collecting after the last high school final on May 27th.
Students should report to their grade level pod, and collection will begin.
ACC students will be collected as they arrive.
Ms. Burton will be the location for the 12th-grade collection. Mr. Chambers will be the location for the 11th-grade collection.
NO STUDENT WILL HOLD ON TO AN IPAD FOR SUMMER SCHOOL THIS YEAR!
Missed Collection
If a student does not turn in their iPad during their scheduled time, they must turn it in the next day they are at school. All iPads must be collected before the end of day on May 28th. Failure to turn in before school is out will result in a police report and/or fees.
Pre-Collection Instructions (For Students and Staff)
Remind students of their collection date in advance.
Students must log out of their Apple ID prior to collection — this is the most important step.
Devices should be fully charged.
Have students update their iPad to the latest iOS version the week before collection.
Teachers will use the “iPad Collection 2026” Google Sheet.
Do NOT use the iPad Inventory sheet.
Collection Day Instructions
1. Student Check-In Location
Middle School: Students report to their grade-level pod. Each pod will have tables set up on all four sides.
High School: Students will report to their grade level pod before being called to the hallway outside their classrooms. This may change based on grade preference.
2. Initial iPad Check (by Teacher)
Confirm that the student is logged out of their Apple ID. If the student does not remember their password, I can remotely reset the iPad and disable the Activation Lock before the device is wiped. Otherwise the student can go to iforgot.apple.com to reset their Apple ID.
Important: Once the iPad has been wiped, I can no longer remove the Activation Lock — the student will need to go through the password reset process themselves next year when they get their iPad back.
Instruct the student to go to:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and SettingsStudents will be called up alphabetically to the collection table.
3. Damage Inspection
Check the iPad for visible damage.
Remove cracked screen protectors; leave intact ones on.
Document any damage in the Collection Google Sheet.
4. Ensure Device is Wiped
Verify that the iPad is logged out of Apple ID. If not, refer back to Step 1.
Ensure the device is completely wiped.
5. Check-In Process
Verify that the student’s name and grade label is on the iPad.
Confirm that the Asset Tag Number matches the inventory.
Mark the iPad as collected on the Google Sheet.
Graduating students or others who want to return chargers may do so.
Place the charger in a labeled plastic bag with the student’s name.
6. Boxing the iPad
Ensure the iPad is powered off.
Place it in the appropriate box:
Separate boxes for damaged devices.
Chargers go into a separate box.
Students marked as non-returning (Orange Color on Collection Sheet) should be separated as well.

Multilingual Moments: Supporting Our ML Students During Testing
At HAST, we are incredibly proud of our multilingual learners and the strengths they bring to our school each day. As we enter testing season, it’s important to remember that while these assessments can be challenging—especially with academic language demands—our students are capable and working hard.
Test scores do not define who they are. Our role is to support, encourage, and remind them that their growth and effort matter most.

Attendance Reminders from Gloria Valdez, Attendance Clerk
Schools must keep an accurate daily attendance record to verify enrollment and attendance. The DOE will directly pull the data from PowerSchool. To ensure compliance with the State, please ensure accurate and timely attendance.
- Please submit your attendance for every period, every day, preferably within 15 minutes of class.
- If a student is in your classroom but NOT on your roster, send them to the office. Every student has a schedule they need to follow.
- Once I code your attendance, you are unable to change it. Please email me to make any corrections.
Field Trips -
- A confirmed participant list must be emailed to me on the day of the trip. I need to verify that the students you mentioned were present and accompanied you on the designated field trip day.
Club Hub
We will have a one-stop shop for Nut Passes, Fundraising, and Staff Extracurriculars. It will work as a directory for staff to reference when planning their year. It's called the "CLUB HUB" Google doc and it is located under "HAST Staff Links" on the left of your bookmark bar.
Email Gloria Valdez your preferred first and second dates for your club/grade to schedule a date for your NUT Pass sales date.
If you are sponsoring a class or extracurricular please email Gloria Valdez so she can add you to the Staff extracurriculars club page.
Lastly, you should be able to print an updated school phone list from the Club hub, if you prefer a laminated one please email Gloria Valdez
