eLearning Kits for Primary
Earlier in November I features our eLearning Plan and all students received an eLearning Kit. Because the Primary School isn't a 1:1 school, meaning every student isn't issued a device, if there is an eLearning day called due to weather or another emergency, our students will be doing activities at home and these bags contain the materials needed to complete those assignments.
We ask that you keep these eLearning kits stored in a safe place so that they aren't opened before an eLearning Day.
Your child's eLearning kit will also have instructions on how to access the office hours with their codes and what is expected on an eLearning day. We know that our age group of students (3-6 years old) that the hands on activities we are assigning will be something that all students can do whether they are at home, at a grandparent's home or another setting.
The eLearning Plan for Primary is located on the button below. You would receive a notification through email and text if we were going to have an eLearning day. If you have questions about the eLearning tool kit, please reach out to your child's teacher.

Healthy Habits for December
We know the month of December holds many celebrations for our families and it is an exciting time of year. Below are some daily activities we are suggesting to do this month to keep our minds focused and our bodies healthy. Give them a try!
Every time you complete an activity, you earn a star. Color it in. It's optional for all of our students, but we wanted to give everyone a fun way to stay healthy and have fun as we wind up the last month of the year together.
How many stars can you earn this month? If you choose to complete our calendar and bring back your paper by January 10th, your child will earn ROAR points.
Winter Parties at Primary
We will be celebrating the end of 2024 and the winter season with our Primary class winter parties on Thursday, December 19th. The Head Room Parent from your child's classroom is working closely with the teacher to plan these activities. They will share the information about time for arrival and party times. All volunteers should be scheduled through our Head Room Parents. Reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions.
Winter Break Activities to Nurture Social Skills and Encourage Friendships
Check out the information below from Kristen Carruthers, our Kindergarten Family Coordinator.
Kindergarten marks an important time when children are learning to be good friends. Parents and caregivers need to provide opportunities for them to practice these important social skills; therefore, limiting screen time and encouraging connection and play is the goal. During Winter Break, invite a friend to your house to play, meet friends in the community, and make time for family activities. Spending time with family and friends builds social skills and positive connections that help children bounce back from obstacles that may occur in their lives.

Winter Weather=5 Points!
Yesterday we had our first taste of winter weather with snow and blowing winds. We will go outside for recess every day during the winter as long as the windchill is above 10 degrees. Research shows that kids who spend more time outdoors are more physically active, and physical activity drives positive health outcomes. "It is not only medically sound, but plain common sense that running around outside in the winter is far more beneficial that being cooped up indoors" -Dr. Michel Cohen, Author and Founder of Tribeca Pediatrics
Doctors note that daily doses of fresh air increase circulation, boost immune systems and promote overall wellness and kids generally sleep better.
To prepare for colder temperatures and snowy fun, all students should come to school with the 5 points. This means a warm coat, hat, mittens, snow pants and boots. Without these items, students will not enjoy their recess time and students without boots and snowpants will not be allowed to play in the snow. Winter can be a fun time for our students, so please send them to school with all of the proper gear. Thank you!
