At the heart of STMA is our commitment to children—and our partnership with families. Our work is grounded in care, compassion, and the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, supported, respected, and valued. We deeply appreciate the partnership we share with families and the trust they place in us each day.

Our focus remains constant and anchored in our core responsibility—to care for and educate children—and we take that responsibility to heart. Through consistent routines, meaningful relationships, and strong connections, we strive to create environments where students feel seen, heard, and loved.

Our commitment to our children runs deep. With heart at the center of all we do, we work each day to foster safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environments where every learner can thrive.

We are grateful to walk alongside our families and serve our children together, united by purpose and guided by heart.

Superintendent for a Day Superintendent for a Day

Each year, a few elementary students act as Superintendent for a Day. The students learn about the district and help make important decisions while having fun along the way. They follow a “typical day” schedule with events such as classroom visits, facility/boiler inspections, meetings with district staff and principals, a dome visit, ice arena visit, bus garage visit, and more. They ate school lunch with Superintendent Foucault at one of our school buildings and ended the day by meeting with STMA School Board Chair Scherber to report on the happenings of the day. They also attended a school board meeting to report to the full school board on their observations and decisions. The future is bright with these amazing student leaders!

This year's Superintendents for a Day were:

  • Charlie and Charlotte - Big Woods Elementary

  • Eleanor and Olen- St. Michael Elementary

  • Aksel and Erika - Fieldstone Elementary

STMA Legislative Forum Feb 4, 2026 STMA Legislative Forum Feb 4, 2026

The 2026 STMA Legislative Forum will be held on February 4 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the auditorium at STMA Middle School West. This forum brings together students, staff, and families to share powerful stories about how the state’s funding formula impacts them personally. Students, a parent, and a staff member will share their perspectives, followed by time for questions and answers. We are honored to welcome local legislators, city and county leaders, members of the House and Senate Education Policy and Finance Committees, and federal legislators representing our district. Please join us—all staff and families are invited, and your voices matter.

On January 19-23 we celebrated and honored our extraordinary support staff and buildings & grounds teams for their hard work, great care, and unwavering commitment to our students. We extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible support staff and buildings & grounds teams across the district. Their dedication, care, and daily contributions help make our schools safe, welcoming, and positive places for our children to learn and grow.

We are grateful for how they go above and beyond each day to create respectful, caring environments where our children feel seen, heard, and valued.

Our Tradition of Excellence would be a hollow promise without their commitment to our students, families, and schools. They truly make a difference, and we are incredibly thankful for all that they do.

Congratulations to Our Outstanding School Board Leaders! Congratulations to Our Outstanding School Board Leaders!
