Summit Earns Safety Recognition
Summit High School has been awarded the Safe Stars Gold Level Recognition, a distinction that reflects their ongoing commitment to safety, preparedness, and excellence in student-athlete care. This recognition highlights the hard work and dedication of the coaching staff, athletic trainers, and administration in upholding the highest standards of safety and risk prevention.
This achievement not only demonstrates compliance with Safe Stars' rigorous criteria but also reinforces the school's continued focus on maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
Thank You Laura Pett - Athletic Trainer
Laura Pett does a fantastic job of supporting our student athletes. She manages a variety of duties for all of our sports teams. She is one of our biggest fans and watches more of our athletes play than almost anyone. She also does a great job of working with students that have interest in becoming athletic trainers in the future, teaching them the ropes and allowing them to observe the position.
OTL Media Day
Williamson County's Outside the Lines (OTL) held a Media Day a few weeks ago. Football, Volleyball and Soccer were all represented at the event. Check out a few of the pictures from the day.
Teams Use Scrimmage Competitions to Prep
Football
After hosting Pope John Paul II at the end of July, the team was excited to finally be hitting another colored jersey. The boys then took to the road to take on a talented Riverdale squad. Unfortunately that match-up was shortened due to weather. The team will host Tullahoma on Friday for their final warm-up, before hosting the Raiders of Spring Hill on Friday the 21st for the season opener.
Volleyball
The returning state champions hosted a Play Day on August 1st against Valor, CPA, Clarksville and Bob Jones (AL). They will host one more Play Day this Saturday before traveling to Centennial for the season opener on Monday the 17th. The girls will host Brentwood for their home opener on August 25th in a rematch of the State Championship game from last October.
Girls Soccer
The girls look to repeat their regular season dominance this year. They started the year with home warm-up contests vs Station Camp and Battle Ground Academy. They will play their first three matches on the road before playing a Saturday home game vs Collierville on August 29th at Noon.
Cross Country
The teams participated in their 5th annual Hare and Hounds event that is a fun run opportunity to prep for their event season. Both teams look to improve on their fantastic seasons last year. They will kick off competition season with the Wildcat Invitational at David Crockett State Park on August 29th.
Golf
Early practices couldn't be more important for our golf teams as they tout young squads on both teams. They have been team building, using Top Golf to enjoy some friendly competition. The boys have gotten out early and experienced some success against Oakland. Both teams opened up vs Ravenwood at Towhee on Tuesday.
Final Football Scrimmage
and Youth Scrimmage
