Dear Dr. Green Families,

I can't believe it's already May and a few weeks before summer. We are looking forward to a busy month of May so let's get ready.

First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude for celebrating with me Principal's Day this past week. I can only say that I feel the luckiest of all principals for having the greatest families, students, teachers and staff. Thank you for the beautiful flowers, meaningful gifts and cards.

Thank you to our PTA board, PTA members and volunteers for supporting the cost of the jumping balloons and your time for ensuring the safety of our little Hawks during the Wellness Walk and the celebration of Día de los Niños-International Children's Day. The students had a blast and enjoyed every second of it.

Our registered students 47% of our school, were thrilled about taking an extra recess at the end of the week last Friday. It was an amazing feeling to see how excited they were playing all over the field. Thank you parents for making the time to register providing an opportunity of an extra recess for your children.

Additionally, in appreciation for taking the time to register, we are having a Cinco de Mayo Bash for all families, registered or not. This will be tomorrow, Monday May 5th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Come, bring the family for music, games, food, aguas frescas and spend some time mingling with our wonderful teachers.

Our office staff will be working until 6:00 to assist you with any questions, technology or uploading document. We hope you can join us!

This week will be Teacher's Appreciation week and on Wednesday, Nurse's Day. I would like to invite you to celebrate these fine people by following the Teacher's Appreciation Week calendar below. Please encourage your children to participate.

We have the following important events and celebrations happening throughout the month.

1. Student Early Release-Wednesday, May 7 at 12:00 pm.

2. Mother's Day celebration -Friday, May 9 at 7:30 to 8:00 am.

3. Gifted and Talented Fair- Wednesday, May 14 at 4:00 -5:00 pm.

4. Cheerleaders Performance- Thursday, May 22 at 5:00 pm.

5. Early Release for:

All staff, teachers and students. Friday, May 23 at 12:00 pm.

6. No school- Memorial Day- Monday, May 26.

7. Choir/Orchestra End of the Year Program, Tuesday, May 27 at 5:00 pm.

8. Completion Ceremony for 5th Grade-Wednesday, May 28 at 9:00 am.

9. Completion Ceremony for Pre-Kinder, Thursday, May 29 at 9:00 am.

10. Field Day for all grade levels. Please check with your teacher if you would like to volunteer and schedules. Friday, May 30.

11. Completion Ceremony for Kinder classes, Monday, June 2 at 9:00 am.

12. Classroom End of the Year parties. Thursday, June 5. Please check with your teacher if you would like to volunteer and schedules.

13. Early Release for: Last Day of School

All staff, teachers and students. Friday, June 6 at 12:00 pm.
