Our 1st grade friends completed their independent math assignment and showcased a safe body, showed kindness to others, and respected their learning environment. Way to SOAR 1st grade!
Halloween Fun!
- Parade: A short "Halloween Parade" will take place beginning at 10:00AM on Friday, October 30th. Weather permitting, we will parade out the main doors and around the building. Our Y5s students will lead the parade around each classroom and then out around the building. All are welcome to come and watch our costume parade outdoors!
- Classroom Activities: Classrooms/grade levels will be planning for Halloween activities and celebrations individually, either before or after the parade. If teachers request parent volunteers to help facilitate the classroom activities, all volunteers will have to submit a Background Check.
- Costumes: Students may come to school in costume on Friday, October 30th. They can stay in costume for the duration of the day. Costumes need to be school appropriate and cannot depict violence or excess blood/gore. No fake weapons are allowed in school (i.e. toy guns, swords, blades, etc). Costume masks can be worn for the parade, but not throughout the day. For costumes that have short skirts/shorts, leggings or pants need to be worn underneath.
🦅 Attendance Matters, Eagles! 🦅
Every day at school is an opportunity to learn, grow, and SOAR! We want all of our Eagles here, on time, and ready to learn each day.
Every day counts, and YOU matter!
Thank you, families, for making school attendance a priority and helping our Eagles succeed!
Yearbooks are now on SALE!
2nd Step Curriculum
As you know, in September we kicked of the Second Step Curriculum in all K-8 classes to further strengthen our social and emotional learning. Second Step offers weekly, age-appropriate virtual lessons for students to help them with a variety of social and emotional skills. These weekly lessons build on and support all of the great work we're doing at Ike to support our students. Combined with our schoolwide restorative practices and consistent PBIS expectations, we are creating a firm Tier 1 foundation for supporting all of our students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.
This week, each grade-level will begin a new unit. Please view the grade-level home links below to learn more about what your child is learning and how to support them at home during the second unit of Second Step.

Does your child have medical needs?
If your child has specific medical needs, please reach out to the main office prior to the start of school. In order to administer medication, consent forms must be completed. Consent forms for prescription medications must include dosage and frequency information signed by a physician. Medication, including inhalers, must be stored in the main office and not in backpacks or pockets. In addition, if your child has a medical plan, it will need to be updated for the 26-27 school year.
Please find medication forms linked below for your convenience.

Outside food and beverage delivery policy:
To help us maintain a safe and efficient school environment, we want to remind families of the District’s policy regarding outside food deliveries: Outside food and beverage deliveries are not allowed for students’ breakfast or lunch. This includes: fast food brought in by parents or family members as well as food ordered through delivery services such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, or Grubhub.
All student meals must either be provided through our Fraser Food Service program or be prepared at home and sent with your child. This policy helps us Keep students safe by limiting visitors and unknown deliveries, Reduce office disruptions and avoid added workload for staff during a very busy lunch hour, and supports healthy meal options offered by our district’s Food Service program
If your student forgets their lunch, we will always ensure they receive a school meal so no child goes without lunch. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment for all Edison students.
No Dogs on Property!
This is a reminder that no dogs are allowed on school property. This is to ensure safety for all of our eagles. Thank you for your cooperation!
Parking Lot Safety
- Please park ONLY in marked parking spaces. Do not create your own spaces as this limits safe accessibility.
- You may not park or drop off students in the designated bus lane(s).
- Please do not wait and watch your child; it causes back-ups for other parents.
- Leaving a vehicle unattended in the drop off lane is not allowed.
- Never leave young children or pets unattended in your vehicle.
- Do not allow children to walk across the parking lot without an adult. Remember that no child is a match for a moving bus or car.
- Parking in handicap spots without the proper handicap license plate/placard is not allowed.
Visitors at Edison
Visitors and volunteers must always check in at the main office. For security purposes, no one may enter our buildings through any other doors. Be prepared to show a picture ID when entering one of our schools.
If you are dropping off lunch or items, please leave it in the vestibule, and the student will be called down to pick up their items or they will be delivered.
All visitors and volunteers are required to sign in and out on the office iPad and wear a visitor’s badge while in our buildings.
Thank you for helping keep our school community safe!
Dress Code
There is a district inappropriate attire policy, which is included in our Student Code of Conduct. The purpose of our dress code is to make sure that our students are dressed for learning success. Parents will be called to bring a change of clothing when students do not follow the district policy.
