Parent and Community Engagement at Truitt Middle School
Hello Timberwolf families,
I hope everyone is staying safe on this unexpected three-day weekend. Last week was a great week at Truitt Middle School. We saw some incredible performances from our band, theater program, and basketball teams. This week we are excited to see our Art program featured at the VPAC, our Robotics team compete at the Berry Center, our Orchestra perform their Candlelight Concert, our performing arts contest season begin, and of course more basketball. Truitt Middle School is exceptional in the variety of activities offered to students. Research shows that students who are engaged in extracurricular activities have better attendance and grades!
I want to highlight our Parent University event Wednesday night at 5:00. There are more details below, but we hope to see you there. I would encourage you to come for the meeting and stay for the Orchestra concert.
I also want to highlight the importance of attendance, especially this time of year. As we enter into testing season, it is vital that students are at school, on time, every day. Our teachers are working incredibly hard to create memorable lessons for your students. When they are not here, they are certainly missing out.
Follow us across social media platforms to see highlights of some of the great things going on at Truitt Middle School.
Thank you,
Justin Nichols

Robotics Success at CFISD Spring VEX V5RC Competition 1/27/2026
Robotics Success at CFISD Spring VEX V5RC Competition 🤖🏆
Truitt Middle School Robotics proudly competed in the CFISD Spring VEX V5RC competition, taking on an impressive challenge by competing at the high school level—the only middle school to do so.
Our 8th-grade team earned an outstanding 12th-place ranking, while our 6th/7th-grade team finished strong at 38th place among a highly competitive field.
This experience showcased our students’ determination, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and willingness to step outside their comfort zone. We are incredibly proud of our Robotics Wolves for representing Truitt Middle School with excellence and courage. Way to rise to the challenge! 💙🐺

Procedures for Students Leaving Early
Dear Parents and Guardians,
If you plan on having your student leave early because of a doctor's appointment or non-emergency, please follow these procedures:
- Send a handwritten note with your student information and the time needed to be excused (please make sure your student gives it to attendance before 1st period).
- If sending a note through email, please make sure you attach a photo of your ID and you must send it an hour prior to leaving.
- No emails or early releases after 2:30 pm due to the dismissal process starting.
Other helpful tips:
- Make sure if your student is absent, please send a doctor's note when your student arrives back to school.
- Only emergency contacts listed can be allowed to take students with previous approval from guardian.
- If a student arrives at school after 7:55 am, make sure to sign them in or send a note. Otherwise, they will be counted absent.
- Only 8 absences are allowed per semester.
