October is National Principals Month
Principal. Assistant Principal. Associate Principal. Dean of Students. School Director. Our school leaders go by a lot of titles, but they all do the same work: leading our schools, supporting teachers, leading instruction, and making sure every student is seen, valued, and known.
Thank you to the school leaders across Wenatchee School District who show up for our students every day.

Doughnuts, Books & Grown-ups a Sweet Start at Sunnyslope π©
Sunnyslope Elementary hosted its first Doughnuts, Books & Grown-ups morning, and families showed up. The event was a delicious collaboration between Sunnyslope librarian Mrs. Blakney and the Sunnyslope PTSA.
Students brought their parents, grandparents, and other grown-ups to the library to read together over doughnuts before the school day started. Itβs an idea a few other WSD schools have tried, and it keeps working. Pair a good book with a doughnut and a favorite grown-up, and youβve got a recipe for success that supports a love of reading and connects parents with their child's school.

Auditorium updates part of the November 3, bond proposal
The WHS Auditorium is 54 years old and the largest in a five-county area. It has served our students and community for decades. If the bond is approved by voters on November 3, 2026, this beloved space would be renovated with new seating, two center aisles, acoustic enhancements, improved theatrical and house lighting, an updated control booth, improved ADA access, added dressing rooms, public bathrooms and a new dedicated entrance, making it an even better home for performances like this one for decades to come. Bond Information
Look for Your Ballot & Our Mailer π¬
Ballots for the November 3 election have started to arrive in mailboxes.
Wenatchee voters will see a $275 million school construction bond focused on replacing most of Wenatchee High School and replacing aging HVAC systems at seven elementary and middle schools. If approved, the bond would fund new learning spaces at WHS while preserving and renovating the gyms, pool, auditorium, locker rooms, and band classroom block. It would also improve heating, cooling, and air quality at schools across the district.
Also check your mailboxes for the districtβs mailer, which provides more details and information about the bond or view it below.
