2. District officials have been meeting with state representatives to advocate for the full funding of the Fair School Funding Plan. We are asking them to increase the base cost inputs to FY24 and continue fully funding the guarantee. If they continue with the current Governor's proposal, we are set to lose $146,464 next year and an additional $206,517 in 2026-27. Please reach out to our elected officials to let them know how detrimental this will be to our district!
3. At the April 21st meeting we will be discussing how we move forward as a district in these tough financial times. Mr. Moss will present the District Falcon Flight Path, a framework for decision-making involving all stakeholders. There will also be a conversation about pay-to-participate fees.

New Chaperone Process
Secure Volunteer Replaces Current Background Check Process
Our chaperone process has changed. We are now using Secure Volunteer with Bchex. The process is online and payment can be made with a credit card. The background check is good for 1 year. Chaperones who complete the process will be notified of the status and approval of their background check via email.
Chaperones are those who will be attending an off-site field trip or overnight trip.
Please note - Those coming into the building for the day as a volunteer can still sign in with a current drivers license using the system in the lobby.
May 2025 Upcoming Levy
Clinton-Massie Local Schools will again be seeking a 1% earned income tax levy aimed at enhancing the quality of education for our students and securing the future of our school district. Due to the failures in 2024, we have been placed in Fiscal Precaution once again due to a low cash balance at the end of next year and a negative cash balance at the end of the 26-27 school year. This requires us to submit a Board-approved Written Plan to ODEW which we did at the end of February. The plan included using Reduction-In-Force of 5 teachers resulting in no specials in the elementary and no more middle & high school choir for the 2025-26 school year. If the levy passes in May 2025, we will receive approximately $200,000 in April of 2026. That means those reductions will stay in place for the 2025-26 school year regardless. We will evaluate our finances during that year and seek feedback from our stakeholders to determine what the 2026-27 school year will look like.
Your involvement is crucial as we work together for the betterment of our students and community. We remain committed to our students and will work tirelessly to minimize disruptions to their education. Our goal is to ensure that every child has access to quality learning experiences, and we will continue evaluating all of our options on how best to do this. We encourage open dialogue within our community to discuss how we can collectively support our schools and students. For more information about the levy and its implications, please visit our website at www.cmfalcons.org/levy.
