Everyone is needed for Pumpkin Unload and Sales
The Pumpkin Patch is our biggest fundraiser of the year for the Youth Missions Fund—and it’s truly a churchwide effort! Every pumpkin sold helps support our youth in incredible ways:
-
Offsetting costs for life-changing events like international mission trips, Benchwarmers, and Salkehatchie.
-
Empowering our Youth Leadership Team to give back by donating to organizations making a difference.
That’s why we’re asking all youth families to step in and help:
-
📦 Unload Days: Sunday, Sept. 28 & Sunday, Oct. 12 from noon–3pm
-
⏰ Sales Shifts: Each family covers two shifts (just 2 hours each!)
Every hour you give at the patch directly supports your youth and their John Wesley family. Thank you for helping make this ministry possible!

Middle Schoolers Need for Acolytes
Serving as an acolyte is a wonderful way for middle school students to grow in their faith while playing an important role in the life of the church. By carrying the light of Christ into worship and assisting in the service, acolytes learn responsibility, develop leadership skills, and gain a deeper understanding of how worship connects us to God and to one another. This hands-on opportunity helps students see that they are not just the “future” of the church, but an active part of its ministry right now. Whether at the 8:30 or 11:00 service, acolyting allows them to contribute in a meaningful way, while also strengthening their confidence and sense of belonging in the church family. We encourage you to click the link below to sign up your child to serve as an acolyte and take part in this meaningful ministry.
Pumpkin Arrive Sunday Sept 28
It’s almost pumpkin time at John Wesley, and we need all hands on deck! Our pumpkin truck will be arriving on Sunday, September 28 and again on Sunday, October 12, both right after the 11:00 worship service. As soon as the truck pulls in, we’ll get to work unloading, and many hands will make light (and fun!) work. To say thank you, we’ll have food for everyone who stays to help, and each volunteer will also receive a special pumpkin t-shirt! In addition to unloading, we also need volunteers to help sell pumpkins throughout the season. Sales happen in easy two-hour shifts, and it’s a great way to meet people, share smiles, and support our youth ministry. Use the link below to sign up for a sales shift, and make plans to join us for the unloads—we can’t do this without you!
