Dates to Remember:
RVA Mile/5K
The RVA Mile/5K will be on Sunday, October 25th at Deep Run High School and is a great opportunity for your child(ren) and whole family to have a fun, healthy morning together! It is open to all age groups and we hope we can get a lot of Coyotes there! Especially because the more Coyotes we have there, the better chance we have at winning money for our P.E. program. Last year, we had the third most students of any school so we received a check for $400!!

Honor Wall For Veterans Day Assembly
On Wednesday, November 11, 2026, KES students will celebrate Veterans Day by honoring the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. As part of our annual assembly, we create a special Honor Wall to recognize all veterans—including those unable to attend in person and those who have passed away.
To participate, please print and complete the attached template and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher along with a photo of your veteran. Their template and photo will be displayed on the main hallway's Honor Wall under their branch of service for our students, staff, and visitors to admire.

Digital Citizenship & AI: Resources for Families
As technology and Artificial Intelligence continue to shape how our children learn and play, we want to ensure our families feel confident navigating this evolving landscape together. Here are a few valuable resources to help guide digital wellness in your home:
Articles & Advice: Explore insightful parenting guides and practical tips from Common Sense Media covering screen time, online safety, and digital habits.
Parent Webinars & Tech Talks: Tune into interactive expert discussions designed to help parents balance tech use, manage device boundaries, and support children in digital spaces.
AI Digital Literacy Toolkit: Discover family-friendly tools and guides to help you and your child understand how AI works, spot misinformation, and use emerging technology responsibly and safely. We encourage you to take a few minutes to explore the links below and start the conversation at home!
Daily Attendance
Daily learning and following established routines are essential for students, especially our youngest learners. Research shows that students who attend school regularly read better, are more proficient in math, and are more likely to graduate from high school and college. Students in every grade, including preschool and kindergarten, learn and develop new skills daily. Missing even one day of learning can cause a setback. Please take a minute to review the HCPS attendance policy and these family resources from Attendance Works.

HCPS 26.27 calendar
The Kaechele Community is growing.
We have many new families joining us for the 2026-27 school year. If you have a new neighbor with elementary-aged children, please encourage them to visit https://henricoschools.us/registration/ to complete the enrollment form. After the enrollment form is submitted, the front office will contact the family to assist in the next steps of the registration. Please encourage your new neighbors to begin the registration process as soon as possible. HCPS assigns the number of teachers at a school based on the school’s current enrollment.
Our 26.27 theme
During the 21.22 school year, we were Growing Together! Our Coyotes grew in so many ways. During the 22.23 school year, our theme was Shine Bright with a focus on reflection, perseverence, and growth. We then celebrated the 10 years since our school opened: 10 years and BEYOND! We look to celebrate, innovate and elevate as we move into our next decade. We were Reaching new Heights: Dream - Achieve - Believe and last year we were Anchored in Excellence.
What about this year? Our theme is to Be Kind. Be Brave. Be You. Bee-lieve in Yourself to Learn and Grow Everyday!
