Hello QCVA Families,
I want to encourage every student to stay focused, work hard, and finish strong. Virtual learning requires dedication, organization, and perseverance, and I am proud of the effort many of you are showing each day. Now is the time to stay on pace, complete assignments, and reach out to your teachers for support so that you can successfully finish your classes. Families, thank you for partnering with us and encouraging your students to remain motivated and accountable—together we can ensure every learner meets their goals and celebrates their accomplishments.
Warm regards,
Kevin Aikins

In Person State Testing Dates
Arizona’s statewide assessments serve as a vital tool to measure the effectiveness of our school's instruction and the progress of student learning. These assessments are aligned with Arizona’s Academic Standards and are required by both state and federal law to ensure all students are meeting essential educational milestones. We encourage all parents and families to mark their calendars for the upcoming testing dates and to help their children prepare by visiting the official Arizona Department of Education website at http://www.azed.gov/assessment/parents. Please be aware that all state tests are administered in person at Newell Barney College Prep to maintain a secure and focused testing environment. Stay tuned, as more detailed information regarding the specific schedule and testing logistics will be shared with our community very soon.
Resources for State Testing Prep
It is completely natural for students to feel some pressure regarding state testing, but the best way to reduce anxiety is through familiarity. We strongly encourage all students to begin exploring the TestNav platform on their own devices. TestNav is the online platform where state testing will be administered. By using the student readiness tools and taking practice tests, students can get comfortable with the digital interface, the variety of question formats, and the specific types of content they will encounter. Whether your student is in grades 3–8 taking the AASA and AzSCI, a 9th grader taking the ACT Aspire, or an 11th grader preparing for the ACT and AzSCI, starting your review now is the key to a stress-free experience.

Our QCVA facilitators are incredibly proud of the hard work our students put in every day, and we want that dedication to shine during these assessments. These tests are an excellent way to see how the Edgenuity curriculum is meeting our students' needs and to ensure everyone is mastering the skills required for their grade level. We believe in our students' abilities and are here to support you through every step of this process. Let’s work together to finish this testing season strong—we know our students are capable of great things!
Partnering for Virtual Success
While virtual learning changes how students study and teachers measure growth, the parent-teacher partnership remains the foundation of student success. Because digital curriculum is self-paced, staying actively involved is essential to keep your student focused and motivated. To help them thrive, we recommend focusing on three core pillars: Time, Expectations, and Encouragement.
Time Management is vital for consistency. Whether working from home or on-site, help your student establish a daily schedule that includes time for assignments and a thorough review of their eNotes before assessments.
High Expectations drive momentum. Encourage your child to use the Assignment Calendar to set and achieve daily goals, which builds the determination needed to stay on track all semester.
Daily Encouragement builds resilience. Make it a habit to check in by asking:
What did you learn or accomplish today?
What was challenging, and how did you overcome it?
How can I help you succeed tomorrow?
By celebrating small wins and providing steady support, you provide the structure your student needs to excel in a virtual environment.

Clear your device's cache and browsing history using the instructions on this website.
Restart your Chromebook.
If you are using your own device, QCVA staff have limited ability to troubleshoot technical issues. If you've already followed the steps listed above ( to clear the cache, cookies, or browsing history) and still need help, we recommend you first try searching for troubleshooting tips online OR contacting your device's support center.
