Celebrating Positivity at El Dorado Middle School!
Hey EMS family! We are thrilled to share some amazing news about the power of positivity at our school. We have handed out a whopping 176 positive office referrals and made numerous positive parent contacts since the beginning of the school year!
Our incredible students are going above and beyond the school's expectations, shining as role models, helping their peers, and being fantastic friends. Their positive actions don't go unnoticed!
To show our appreciation, students are rewarded in style! Those earning positive office referrals get the chance to swing by the concession stand before school or during seminar to pick a cool item. we also showcase their awesomeness by posting their photos on our social media and webpage!
Let's keep the positivity flowing, EMS! Every act of kindness and leadership contributes to our fantastic school community. Keep up the great work, and stay tuned for more celebrations of our incredible students!

Let your kids get in trouble
Years ago, one of my kids got in trouble at school, and the principal called me to let me know how serious it was and the possible consequences. My husband and I immediately went in to visit to let them know βwe fully agree with the consequences and there will also be follow up at homeβ. We heard later it surprised them, that too often parents are making excuses and trying to get their kids out of trouble and arguing with the school.
Listen, your kids are little, short, cute kiddos who misbehave. They do! If they get in trouble, and pay consequences, be grateful! Donβt bail them out! Donβt assume it was someone elseβs fault. Let it sting. That is kindness as a parent β better a suspension or bad grades or not a making a team than something worse.
Consequences are a gift β donβt shield your kids from that gift. And when you need to be the
consequence disher -do it! One day they will thank you for being a parent. Everyone is so quick
to defend their child when in reality, EVERY kid makes mistakes. We HAVE to let then learn from
them. The school is not out to get kids, or catch kids! They do that to themselves. We just want
kids to behave and get along. If you bail them out now, you could be bailing them out of a lot of
negative situations, and some situations, that may not be possible! Let them learn young, so
they can grow up and obey the rules and avoid trouble.
