Pre-Registration for New Students Begins 2023-24
Parents and guardians of current Frisco ISD students will receive emails April 4-14, 2023 with instructions on how to begin the registration process for the 2022-23 school year.
Keep an eye out: The email will include a unique snapcode and instructions to complete the online PowerSchool Registration process for each student.
If you have multiple students, you will not receive all of these invitation emails at the same time.
Families must provide proof of residency each year as a final step in the annual registration process.
Updated immunization records may be required to finalize registration before the new school year begins.

It's Spring and allergies are in full swing!
Allergies may come and go but can be easily treated with over-the-counter allergy medications, so your student is not suffering from itchy watery eyes, continuous runny/congested nose, sore throat, or disruptive cough while at school. If you have any doubt, and think that your child's symptoms are cold related, please monitor your students at home for fever. Reach out to your child's doctor for symptoms that do not improve.
Help protect yourself from getting and spreading Pink Eye (conjunctivitis).
Pink eye is highly contagious. If your student wakes with pink eye symptoms, please keep them at home and contact their doctor. Symptoms include:
- Redness or swelling
- Watery eyes
- A gritty feel
- Itchiness, irritation, or burning
- Discharge
- Crusting of the eyelids or lashes

Mystery Reader Program Sign Up
A Mystery Reader program is a guest reader, BUT their identity is kept secret to build anticipation and excitement. Teachers may even choose to give clues before they arrive to get the students extra excited!
FISD Board Policy requires that each volunteer and/or mentor undergo a background check before working with students. You will be prompted to complete the background check during your VOLY account creation process. Keep an eye on your inbox for your background check approval (the process can take up to 3-5 business days). Once approved, you will be able to sign up directly for volunteer opportunities through the VOLY platform. To volunteer at Rogers Elementary, you will need to create a VOLY account by visiting https://friscoisd.voly.org.
Click on the links below to sign up for a time slot during the school day to read-aloud to your child's class.
GMR Visitors Welcome! Must Sign up
We are pleased to open our doors for GMR visitors to attend our assemblies. Please note that there are limited spots available and a sign up is required to attend.
Also please note that GMR is no longer every single Friday.
Please make sure to arrive a few minutes early to present your photo ID and get checked in!
Lunch Visitors - SIGN UP REQUIRED
Lunch visitors have begun on campus and we have enjoyed seeing families have a meal with their students!
Please remember that sign ups are required in order to eat lunch on campus with your student. If the sign up for the grade level is full and a parent comes to eat lunch, unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate you that day. The sign up is linked below for quick access!
As a reminder, we ask that parents visit 1-2 times per month to allow all interested visitors the opportunity to eat lunch with their student. You must bring an ID in order to be granted access to the building.
Finally, we ask that you do not park in the fire lane.

April’s Guidance Lesson
Next month’s guidance lesson covers the topic of anti-victimization / abuse advocacy. Beginning this year, the state of Texas requires parents to designate whether or not they would like their child to participate in this lesson.
If you haven’t done so already, can you please go to your child’s grade-level newsletter and fill out the linked Google form? Also, you can get more information about the topics that will be covered in each grade level’s lesson. I hope to get a response from every student's family by Monday, March 27th. Thank you for your time!
Please email bocians@friscoisd.org if you have any questions or need more information.
STAAR
Some students get a little nervous before standardized testing, so I will be going into all of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes before testing begins at the end of April.
I will be talking with the students about:
-Being nervous is OK!
-Why STAAR testing isn’t THAT bad
-The power of positive thinking
-Positive self-talk and affirmations
-What to do to calm your body & mind

SIPS N’ SNIPS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Rogers friends, we are looking for a few good volunteers to help our amazing teachers with projects. Sips n’ Snips is our opportunity to serve the school in a meaningful way! Bring your coffee and conversation! Teachers will have projects for us to help with each Monday from 8:00 – 10:00 am.
Library Helpers Needed
Our wonderful Rogers librarian, Mrs. Noe, is always looking for volunteers to help with reshelving books, helping students find books, and helping with the check in/check out process at the computer stations. Each volunteer shift is a two hour commitment and just requires a brief training on your first visit. Giving your time is such a gift to this wonderful lady, so sign up if you have some time to spare!
