Boyden Weekly Update
October 9, 2026
Dear Boyden Families,
On Tuesday, Boyden proudly welcomed Chris Eliopoulos, illustrator of the popular Ordinary People Change the World series. Chris visited our K–5 students to celebrate the release of the 40th book in the series, We Are the Wright Brothers.
During his presentation, Chris shared inspiring stories and valuable life lessons from historical figures. He then guided students through a step-by-step drawing lesson, emphasizing that anyone can be an artist by using simple shapes and letters. To wrap up the event, several students had the special opportunity to ask Chris their own thoughtful questions.
A huge thank you to the Boyden PAC for sponsoring this visit and to An Unlikely Story for coordinating such a wonderful experience.
Reminder: Monday, October 12th is no school.
PE Update
Boyden students are off to a fantastic start in physical education this school year, with all grades engaging in dynamic fitness stations that build strength and endurance during our first few weeks. Following that foundation, kindergarten and first-grade students have been mastering fundamental locomotor skills through fun movement games that emphasize personal space and body awareness. Meanwhile, students in grades two through five have transitioned to developing foundational soccer skills, including dribbling, passing, and strategic gameplay. Throughout all these activities, our new student teacher, Mr. Henry, has been actively working with and supporting all of our classes.
