Principal Office Updates
Hello Albright Families,
I'm not sure about you, but the beautiful weather and spring blossoms have really put a pep in my step! Students have enjoyed getting outside for PE and recess; we truly believe this opportunity for movement and fresh air is crucial to both their physical and mental health.
While the school year is winding down, we do still have 5 weeks remaining, and we are encouraging our students to stay focused and continue working hard in their classes. During the week of May 4th, students will complete their Spring iReady Diagnostic in math during their math class. The following week, students will complete their Spring iReady Diagnostic for reading during their ELA class.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything we can do to support you, your student, or your family.
Sincerely,
Heidi Hummel
6th & 7th Grade Elective Selections
If you are the parent of a 6th or 7th grade student, you received an email from me explaining the different offerings for electives/specials classes next year. We do need all families to complete the Google Form sharing their preference on which specials class they would like for next school year. We are now at nearly 75% of families having responded! HERE is the link to the Google Form - please complete it ASAP.
PLEASE REGISTER IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO ALREADY!
Community Events/ Classes
Safe Sitter Classes
Endeavor Health will once again be offering Safe Sitter Classes for our 11-14 yr old students and would love it if you could help us spread the word in your district. These classes help to prepare the students to care for younger children safely and responsibly and are much enjoyed by all who have attended previously. The summer dates for Elmhurst are June 30 and July 17. There are also dates in Naperville June 12, July 27 and August 14.
Villa Park Bike Safety
“Bring the whole family out for the First Annual Bike Safety Rodeo, presented by Villa Park Parks & Recreation! Ride through a hands-on safety course, build confidence on two wheels, and learn the rules of the road. Enjoy raffles, giveaways, and connect with community partners like Ride Illinois, Working Bikes, Elmhurst Cycling Club, and CAMBR. The Villa Park Police Department will offer free bike registration, and a used bike and bike parts drive will support Working Bikes to provide bicycles to those in need.”

PUNCTUALITY MATTERS!! THE BELL IS 7:43 AM FOR CLASSES TO BEGIN
⏰ Punctuality Matters!
Arriving to school on time is an important part of setting students up for a successful day. Our arrival window is 7:35–7:43 a.m., and students who arrive after 7:43 a.m. are officially marked tardy. We understand that mornings can be busy; however, late arrivals not only disrupt classroom instruction but also create additional strain on the front office during an already busy time. Being on time helps students start their day calmly, stay engaged in learning, and respect the routines of their classroom. Thank you for your support in helping your child arrive on time each day!
Please help us reinforce the importance of a smooth morning routine at home. We appreciate your partnership in ensuring students are in their classrooms and ready to learn by 7:45 AM sharp!
The New Stronger Than EVER Award!
This year, we are proud to introduce the Stronger Than Ever Award — a way to celebrate the incredible dedication, heart, and purpose that make our schools thrive. Do you know a staff member who is building a new foundation, showing the same unwavering heart, or living out a bigger purpose for our students and community? We invite you to nominate them!
Help us shine a light on the people who make a difference every day. Submit your nomination below and let’s recognize those who are truly Stronger Than Ever!

Lunch Menu and Payment Options

May Lunch Menu
New at AMS: A la carte menu items
Beginning late next week, we will offer a la carte snack items for purchase through the lunch lines. The items sold will include baked chips ($1.50), chocolate chip cookies ($1.25), and sparkling water ($2.00). There are a few rules around how much and when students can purchase the items:
- Students with a negative lunch balance will not be allowed to purchase these items
- Students may only purchase one of each type of item per day (i.e. only one bag of chips, one cookie, and one drink)
- If a student is only purchasing a snack item, and not a hot lunch, that student must wait until students getting their hot lunch have been served, then they can enter the lunch line to purchase their snack (we want to prioritize students getting their meals)
- The prices listed above will be consistent for everyone, regardless of whether the student receives free/reduced lunch prices
- Students must use money loaded on to their account for the snack items; we do not accept cash
