Tiny rabbit dreams of growing as big as the forest and as tall as the trees, yet no matter how hard he wishes, he stays the same small size. But in a jungle filled with beasts both big and small, perhaps being tiny is just right!

Chatting with your child- Tiny Rabbit's BIG WISH

Tiny Rabbit's BIG WISH is such a great story to talk about characters, lessons learned and making connections.

By making reading a fun, joint activity, your little one will be more likely to look forward to story time which in turn will improve their literacy, reading, and language skills even more!

Ask these questions as you are reading the story together...

  • Look at the cover of this book, what do you think this book is about?
  • What size is the character?
  • What color is the character?
  • What is the character doing and feeling?

Read-aloud is a prescription for lifelong success for the child and a dose of deep well-being for the family.

Check out the activities below that go along with the book. There is one for each character or sound that Rabbit encounters. Check out the activities below that go along with the book. There is one for each character or sound that Rabbit encounters.

Gorilla Bread Recipe - The Girl Who Ate Everything

Gorilla Bread Recipe - The Girl Who Ate Everything

Gorilla bread is monkey bread on steroids. Cream cheese is stuffed inside the biscuits then the outside is covered in butter, cinnamon sugar, and nuts. A sweet treat for breakfast. In 2005, I was living at my moms with Austin trying to save money while John was in Miami trying to secure a spot on the team.

A Painted Branch // Collaborative Art with Kids

This week for art class I tried something new. Our neighbor cut down some branches and left them on our property. They'd been there a while, actually. We kept thinking they would clean them up. As I was staring at them from the kitchen window Monday morning I thought that I should really make a phone call.

FUN FROM SCHOLASTIC

EVERYONE IS SPECIAL

In Margarita Engle’s Tiny Rabbit’s Big Wish, the titular tiny rabbit wants so badly to grow as big as the mountains and be as fierce as the other animals around him. The problem? He’s a tiny rabbit, and he most likely won’t grow to mountain size!

The tiny rabbit eventually learns to appreciate the parts of himself that make him unique, such as his big, tall ears and their powerful sense of hearing that help keep him safe from predators.

In this write-and-draw activity, students can show their appreciation for a person in their lives by highlighting their unique and special qualities.
