β Principal's Message
I want to start off by thanking all of the community partners who have been coming into the school to share their expertise and support many of our grade 7 students with their Climate Action Ripple Effect (CARE) projects. Thank you for contributing to our KLO community in such a powerful and meaningful way.
On Monday, the KLO leadership class will be leading our Terry Fox Run. KLO does this event in April, as it is the Anniversary of when Terry started his Run of Hope, which was on April 12, 1980. Students will have a chance to participate and the event will be followed up with a BBQ. Hot dogs will be $2.00 and freezies will be $1.00. All proceeds will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.
On Thursday, students will start working on their third and final round of Core-Competency lessons. Parents and guardians will receive a self-reflection email from their child that is focused on the Core-Competencies. Please take a moment to connect with your child about their self-reflection message.
I want to remind everyone that all parents are welcome to bring their voices forward at our PAC meetings. This is a great space to bring ideas, thoughts and concerns to our Administration and PAC. We hope to see you at our next meeting which is on Wednesday, April 15 at 6:30pm in the Library Learning Commons.
Thank you to all of the parents who took some time to complete the survey for my Principal Appraisal. It is always valuable to receive authentic feedback from the community that I serve. Have a great weekend, KLO!

π Attendance Matters
Coming to school regularly matters far more than many realize!
When students attend regularly:
They gain consistent access to instruction and hands-on learning
They get immediate feedback from teachers as they learn
They build friendships and develop social skills
They feel connected to their school community
These experiences are essential for both academic success and emotional wellbeing. If challenges arise, please reach out. We're here to help!
