Walk, Bike, & Roll to School is a nationwide event being held on Wednesday, October 9 to promote and encourage an active lifestyle. Active trips to school enable children to incorporate the regular physical activity they need each day while also forming healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Regular physical activity helps children build strong bones, muscles and joints, and it decreases the risk of obesity. In contrast, insufficient physical activity can contribute to chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer and stroke.

The following District 204 schools are participating in Walk, Bike, & Roll to School:

Brooks Elementary

Brookdale Elementary

Kendall Elementary

McCarty Elementary

Peterson Elementary

White Eagle Elementary

Fischer Middle School

Gregory Middle School

Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to use the 204 Tipline to anonymously report safety concerns or share them directly with a trusted adult or law enforcement. Please avoid discussing or sharing concerns or suspicious activities on social media or with friends. Allow law enforcement to investigate each situation thoroughly and appropriately.

Parents can watch a previously recorded Parent University: Social Media Awareness and Internet Safety for additional tips.

The next regular Board of Education meeting is at 7 PM on Monday, October 7, 2024 at the Crouse Education Center, 780 Shoreline Drive, Aurora. Meeting agendas and documents will be available online prior to the meeting. Video of the regular meeting can be streamed live or viewed the following day at the District’s YouTube channel.
