Spring Sports
The opening week of Spring Sports was a success. The weather held off juuuuuuust enough to host all four outings. Congrats to Log College's softball team who won their opener by a score of 12-3.
Students of the Month
Congratulations to students Logan M., Ava M., Kseniia C., Anthony U., Sofia R., Adrian U., Tim K., Rudra P., Fredy G., Brenda G., Dylan B., and Maddalena L. for being selected as Students of the Month for March! Your teachers appreciate all of your hard work and dedication. Keep it up!
Art Class with Ms. Schenfelt
Sixth grade students in Mrs. Schenfelt's Introduction to Art classes recently finished up with their printmaking unit by printing their personal logos. Students learned about marketing, logo design, and the graphic design process. They combined a symbol representing their interests with their initials, transferred it onto a carving material called softcut, and created a print plate that they can use over and over again. Classes discussed color theory and used watercolor to create colorful backgrounds for our final prints. They all did a fantastic job!
Earth and Space Science
Students in sixth grade science chose to deepen their knowledge of eclipses by designing and creating their own models! They used various materials to demonstrate both the tilt of the moon’s orbit and the differing sizes of the celestial objects. There is no doubt that these students can explain exactly why the solar eclipse expected on Monday, April 8th, will be a rare occurrence!
