Message from Mrs. Jones
Dear Pawtucketville Families,
Thank you to all of our families for your patience and flexibility this past week as we continue to work through snow removal and navigate arrival and dismissal under less-than-ideal winter conditions. We truly appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we prioritize safety during these winter months.
Next week, Pawtucketville will be hosting voters for the upcoming special election. Please know that student and staff safety is always our first priority, and our team has been planning for several weeks to ensure the day runs smoothly and safely for everyone in the building.
As we look ahead to the end of the week, we’re excited to celebrate Patriots Spirit Day on Friday, just ahead of the Super Bowl. We invite students and staff to wear their Patriots gear or team colors to show their spirit.
We will also be offering attendance incentives for students who attend school on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. On Tuesday, students will enjoy dance parties in the cafeteria, and on Wednesday, we will come together for an all-school assembly, followed by our fourth STEAM Day for students.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. We’re looking forward to another great week at Pawtucketville!
Warmly,
Mrs. Jones

P'Ville will be hosting a culture night - Passport through Pawtucketville on Thursday, May 21st, from 6:00-7:30 pm.
We know that it’s many months away, but time has a way of sneaking up on us, and we need your help! We are asking parents to bring a dish and/or offer cultural services such as:
* Henna
* Dance or musical performances
* Storytelling
* Cultural demonstrations
* Or sponsor a country/cultural table, where you can decorate, present information, and share cultural items and experiences from that culture!
We know everyone is incredibly busy, so we especially welcome prioritizing bringing a delicious dish that represents your culture. Please message Ms. Maggie or complete this Google form to let us know how you plan to support this event.

Pawtucketville Recess & Snow Play Policy
Outdoor vs. Indoor Recess
To keep students safe and provide consistent routines, the following guidelines determine when recess will be held outdoors or indoors:
Outdoor Recess
Held when the “feels like temperature” is 20°F or higher.
Light precipitation (flurries, drizzle, mist) may still allow for outdoor play if the playground is safe.
Students should come each day with appropriate clothing for the season.
Indoor Recess
Recess will move indoors when:
The “feels like temperature” is 19°F or lower.
There is heavy rain, sleet, unsafe ice, or severe weather.
The playground is deemed unsafe by administration.
Snow Play During Daily Recess
To maintain safety and consistency:
Students may not play in the snow during regular recess.
No snow throwing, sliding on ice, or climbing snowbanks.
Snow Play Fun Friday (Teacher-Led)
Teachers may choose to offer “Snow Play Fun Friday” as a special activity. The following expectations apply:
The event must be fully teacher-supervised and teacher-managed.
Teachers must ensure every student has the proper clothing (snow pants, boots, coat, gloves, hat). Students cannot be excluded due to not having proper clothing.
Activities should be safe and structured (e.g., snowmen, snow art).
Review safety expectations before going outside.
Student Dismissal
If you need to make any changes to your child’s dismissal plan, those changes must be made before 3:00 PM.
If your child’s teacher does not respond to your dismissal message in ClassDojo, you must call the main office before 3:00 PM to ensure the change is received and communicated properly.
Thank you for helping us keep all students safe!
Attendance Matters
Don’t let the cold weather keep you from school—Attendance Matters!
Winter is here, but school is still the place to be! Missing 10% of the year (about 2 days a month) is considered chronic absenteeism — and we want every student to feel confident and connected.
Quick Winter Tips for Strong Attendance
Dress in layers to stay warm
Plan ahead for messy roads and bus delays
Keep routines steady, even when it’s chilly
Ask the school if your student needs winter gear
Let’s bundle up and show up!
A regular attendance routine is important for your child’s well-being, learning and long-term success.
