Brain Under Construction
A Tool Box To Help Kids Move From Worry To Wellness
You are Invited to the November Parent/Guardian Workshop
Please join the CVUSD's BreakThrough Student Assistance Program and The Conejo Schools Foundation for a workshop presented by Jennifer Mundy, LMFT, on Monday, November 10th, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM at University Center, 2801 Atlas Avenue, Thousand Oaks 91360.
Workshop Description
Join us for an engaging and insightful parent workshop focused on understanding student anxiety — and how knowledge of the brain can help families support children’s emotional well-being and academic success.
Led by licensed therapist Ms. Jennifer Mundy, this interactive session will explore:
- How stress, worry, and anxiety affect the developing brain and a student’s ability to focus and learn
- The link between emotional regulation and academic performance
- How the brain’s natural “fight, flight, or freeze” response can interfere with concentration, motivation, and memory
- Practical tools and strategies parents can use to help children manage anxious thoughts, calm their nervous system, and build resilience
- Ways to create supportive routines and home environments that promote confidence, curiosity, and readiness to learn
By understanding how anxiety works in the brain, parents will gain valuable insight into what their child is experiencing — and learn concrete ways to help them feel safe, capable, and focused.
Don’t miss this opportunity to empower your family with knowledge and tools to navigate anxiety — and approach the school year with confidence and calm!
