A Message from the Principal
Dear Academy Families and Friends,
We're down to the last two weeks of school. And while the weeks turn into days, it truly is a special time of year. First and foremost, I want to thank all of the volunteers for all of these events. Without you, many of them would not be possible. Furthermore, I want to thank our AAPC (who had their last meeting of the year on Thursday). Special thank you to our out-going presidents Kerri Olore and Katie McPartlin as well as our treasurer Lindsey Brooks for all of their hard work. I am so grateful for your leadership and dedication supporting our school over the past two years!
Here are a few key things to remember:
- For 3rd and 4th grade families, chromebooks and chargers will be recollected starting tomorrow. Please check your emails for more information. Next year, devices will be back to the cart models.
- This Tuesday is the K-2 Spring Concert-doors open at 9:45, show starts at 10AM.
- Academy took home the trophy at the All-Elementary rack and Field meet for the elementary schools at the WHS track. Way to represent, thanks to all the volunteers from the staff, middle school and high school!
- Field Day was great. Thank you to all of the volunteers and staff for making it so much fun for the kids.
- 5th Grade Band night events was also wonderful! Special thank you to Mrs. Gilbert and Mr. Torres for an outstanding performance!
- Thank you to Sgt Chuck Struzzeri and the Weymouth Fire Department for the fire safety event on Wednesday with our K-3rd grade classes.
- Be sure to check our facebook page for more picks from all of these great events!
- 5th Grade Fun day is this Thursday after school.
- No School this Friday, it is the Juneteenth Holiday observance.
Let's make the last two weeks of the school year the best yet!
Mr. Patrick J. Higgins

Playground Etiquette
Playground Expectations
As the weather continues to improve, we are so excited to see our Academy families using the playground after school. Consistency is so important for our students that we find it important to share with you our playground expectations that we provide to the students during the school day. We hope this carries over to after school and beyond:
Everyone plays – Every game is open to whoever wants to play as long as those playing are being safe, respectful and responsible during the game. Including others are expected behaviors.
Play safe – Students must play so that they and others are not physically or emotionally hurt. Students must avoid rough play, unsafe play, and name-calling. Examples of unsafe play include jumping from the top of the play structure or sliding into someone still on or near the end of the slide.
Be Respectful- Students will listen and follow directions. They will be kind and provide other students an opportunity to use the play structure. Keep hands and feet to themselves. Please stay away and out of the woods and please remember to keep sticks and stones on the ground and away from the play areas. Ball play should be reserved to the baseball field and away from the play structures.
