Positive Posts
- Last week all students went to their lockers and classrooms independently. Thank you parents for your patience and support as we worked through this transition.
- Our Harvey-Swanson students sure know how to show the Other People Matter mindset. As usual, there are countless examples to share and here are just a few: students coming to me to tell me why someone would make a great safety squad candidate, students holding doors for others, students engaging in problem solving conversations, students following all of the lunchroom procedures without reminders, and students walking quietly in the hallways so others can learn.
Positivity Project-P2
This week we will focus on the character strength curiosity. Click here to learn more about this character strength.
What it is: Being curious means you like to learn and explore. People who are curious tend to ask lots of questions.
Why it is important: Being curious about something makes us want to know more and helps us take the risks (like asking questions) that help us learn.

All are welcome to help plan. The Fall Festival is on Friday, October 25th from 5:00-7:00. There are so many ways to lend a helping hand.
- Please refer to the attached volunteer form that can be found on the PTA Facebook page. A copy also went home with each student. The form includes important events you may be interested in volunteering for.
Visitors, Early Pick Up and Change in Procedure
- All visitors must check in at the office and get a visitor sticker.
- If you pick your child up early from school, please go to the office and sign him/her out. Your child will be called down to meet you in the office.
- If your child’s regular dismissal procedure ever changes, please send a note to the teacher. Unless we have a note or a phone call to the office, we will follow your child’s regular dismissal procedure. Please make sure any changes are communicated before 3:20 each day.
