McKelvey Primary Families,

What an amazing first week of school it has been! The students are doing a great job getting into their new routines. We are so proud of them!

If you are a Kindergarten family that received a yard/door sign, please bring it to the vestibule at the main entrance so that we can reuse them for next year's students.

If you think you may qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, please check out the information towards the bottom of this newsletter. The application must be filled out every year.

September 7th: No School, Labor Day

September 8th: Fall Picture Day at school

September 9th: Half Day (dismiss at 1pm)

September 10: Kindergarten Meet the Teacher/Supply Drop | 4:30-5:30

September 23: PTO Meeting at Primary in the library | 6:30-7:30pm

October 2nd: Fun Friday- Fall Festival/Boosterthon Color Run during school; Party on the Playground at Intermediate after school at 4:30

Please drop off your door sign in the vestibule in the main entrance of school at your earliest convenience. Thank you!

Please send your child to school with one snack every single day. The snack should be in their backpack, separate from their lunch. If you need assistance with buying snacks, please contact me.

Please have your car tag visible in the mirror of your vehicle as you are pulling into the lot until your child enters your car. The application MUST be resubmitted every year!

The Parkway School District participates in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. This allows families the opportunity to apply for Free and Reduced Price Meal Benefits.
The information provided on the application is confidential and will be used only for the purpose of determining eligibility. The eligibility criteria and application are available for download below.
Applications are also available from the Nutrition Services Office or the School Principal's Office.

HOW DO YOU QUALIFY?
Qualification is based on household income. The income criteria table for the 2026-2027 school year is provided in the link below.

Please bring only a backpack with a change of clothes, reusable water bottle, one small snack and a *lunch box (*if bringing lunch) on the first days of school. Kindergarten students will use community supplies until "soft placement" timeframe is over. KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES --> Do not bring additional supplies until the Meet the Teacher/Supply Drop-off on September 10th.

Summer is a wonderful opportunity to become a cleared volunteer through our HR Department. Only cleared volunteers (through HR) will be eligible to attend field trips and volunteer for school day events.

If you click the document below, you will find the Parkway School District calendar for the 26-27 school year. We miss our students when they are not here at school. If you are planning vacations, trips, or appointments, the no school days and half days are great opportunities for that, however, we do understand that things come up that are unavoidable.
