I still have not received our allocations for next year. So, as far as next year's map, it is not ready. However, I am for sure going to put 5th-grade classes together for next year. This means that there will be quite a bit of movement. I would plan on packing as much stuff as possible.

Final signatures must be completed before you leave work on your last day.

Awards Awards

Schedule

We will have awards on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I tried to keep specials the same as much as possible, but there are some changes, and your schedule may be different each day as far as a conference. The purpose of doing this is to ensure that everyone has a conference and lunch each day.

If you see something that doesn't make sense, please let me know! I have added the schedule to a tab on the Master Schedule document, which is linked HERE.

Please complete THIS FORM if you have a personal children's awards ceremony. We will make sure you have coverage to see your baby :)

Flow of the Ceremony

9:00 Ceremony

8:40: Begin bringing students to the music room to line up.

10:00 Ceremony:

9:45: Begin bringing students to the music room to line up.

All Ceremonies:

  • Line students up alphabetically in order of the awards you are giving.
  • Wilkins will welcome families, talk about the checkout process, and welcome the first teacher to the stage.
  • Teachers will call each student and list their awards.
    • "Mary Gregory, Certificate of Completion and Parmley Optimistic Award"
    • Make sure we have a good pace.
  • Students will walk past you. Wilkins will be standing in the middle of the stage and will hand shake and pose for a picture with the student.
    • We will have a dot where the students will stand
    • We will stand for a second and try to find the family of the student so we can ensure they can get their picture.
  • After getting their award, students will walk down the stage and out the other side doors, walk down the Texas Hall and back into the music room to wait for the ceremony to be completed. (Once your class is done, you are welcome to go back to your classroom)

Student Dismissal

  • Once all students have been called and the ceremony is complete. I will hold all families in the cafeteria until every class is back in the rooms.
  • Once there, I will send families back to get their student.
  • If families are taking their students home, they must show you their checkout slip. Please DO NOT take the slip as they need it to exit the building.

Logistics

  • All PE will be at the pavilion Tuesday-Thursday. Please meet Coach Farrow at the doors down the 3rd grade hallway.
    • If your class has Music Tuesday-Thursday between 8:45 and 11:00, you will take your students to PE.
  • Please park in the field closest to the gym on these days.
  • Students will eat breakfast in your classrooms on Tuesday-Thursday.

Parmley Playbook

This year, we will be focusing on systems, systems, systems!! I want to make sure our staff has everything they need to be successful. We have created the Parmley Playbook, where you will have all the tools, resources, expectations, documents, etc., at the tip of your fingers! This is a working document that is ever-changing. The vision for this document is for you to add it to your Bookmark Bar and have easy access to these tools. As we move through the year, if you are frequently using something and would like to see if on the Parmley Playbook, Content Leaders will have access to edit the document to add for the school. 😁

Without further ado... I present to you... YOUR Parmley Playbook!!!

Student Birthdays

As a reminder, this is what our procedure is for student birthdays:

At Parmley, we love to acknowledge our students' birthdays and provide them with a celebration from the staff. We know that your child's special day is important, and we ask that if you choose to send something, it is something that is only a prepackaged, store-bought treat that your student can carry and take to class. These items will need to be sent home with their peers in their backpacks at the end of the day.

We will not be doing cupcake delivery or any special decorations such as balloons or gifts. Please do not send cookies or cupcakes that could be crushed in backpacks when sent home.
