A Message from Dr. Sanchez A Message from Dr. Sanchez

We hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. As we return to school, we wanted to share a brief update about a recent partnership and some important reminders for the weeks ahead.

Our freshman students recently participated in Elyssa’s Mission’s SOS (Signs of Suicide) program. Through this program, students learned how to recognize the signs of depression or self-harm in themselves or others and how to seek help from a trusted adult. This partnership supports our ongoing commitment to ensuring that every student feels safe, supported, and equipped with essential mental health resources.

As we move into December, finals are right around the corner. Over the next couple of weeks, students will be finalizing units, completing major assignments, and preparing for their final assessments. Attendance is extremely important during this time, as consistent participation in class will help students stay on track and finish the semester strong.

We also invite you to join us for our Winter Chorus Concert on Thursday, December 11, at 7:00 PM. Come enjoy an evening of festive music performed by our talented students!

Thank you for your continued support. Stay Warm!

-Dr. Sanchez

-Dr. Sanchez

A: There are way too many occasions to list, but one of the most memorable moments was going on the trip to Spain and France with the World Languages Department in 2023. At PMSA, we center student recognition as a key part of our school culture. To celebrate the achievements and contributions of our students and staff, we have established a Students of the Month program.

Each month, one department is responsible for selecting one student per grade to receive the award based on academic merit, as outlined by each department. In addition, we recognize a Student Python of the Month and a Faculty Python of the Month. These awards are presented to students and staff who embody our school motto: “Driven by Excellence, Grounded in Kindness.” Award recipients are recognized at our monthly board meetings.

For the month of December, the Math department is proud to recognize the following students:

  • Freshman: Mario Martinez

  • Sophomore: Miguel Carrasco

  • Junior: Jaliayah Hoover

  • Senior: Alfonso Varelas

Our Student Python of the Month is Mariafernanda Espana, a freshman who contributes to the PMSA school community through acts of service.

Our Staff Member of the Month is Ms. Emilia Chavez, who continues to go above and beyond to support our students and staff each day at PMSA. Her hard work, warm attitude, and commitment to creating a welcoming environment make a meaningful difference in our school community.
