School Board Election by Candidate Resolution

Since the District is not requesting a change in the millage and the school board race is unopposed, the District can close all polling locations and conduct the election as an “Election by Candidate,” authorized by A.C.A. 7-11-107(b) pursuant to A.C.A. 6-14-102(c). The only voter would be the candidate. The candidate would for herself as the only candidate in the race.

Ms. Angela Person-West, who represents Zone 4 on the Board of Education, is the only candidate for her zone.

School Improvement Plans

Dr. Shawn Nickerson, the Director of School Effectiveness and Literacy Enforcement, provided an overview to the Board of Education about each campus' improvement plans. These plans serve as best practices and actions to increase student outcomes at every building.

Budget for 2024

Mr. Brian Brown, the Chief Financial Officer, presented a portion of the preliminary budget for the 2024 fiscal year.

Board Workshop

All meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. and are held in the Boardroom in the Administration Building, located at 2400 Willow Street. They are open to the public.

Meetings will also be broadcast on our YouTube Channel: NLRSD Board Meetings.
